Brides The Show: The Inside Guide

With the final countdown to this autumn’s Brides The Show most definitely on, I am now officially excited about spending a day wandering the show (I’ll be there on Saturday so if you see, me, do say hello!). I’ve been planning my excursion, listing the exhibitors and events I don’t want to miss and generally whipping myself into quite a state of wedding excitement. So, if you’re heading to Brides The Show at the Design Centre Islington 3-5 October, here’s my go-to guide, the must-not-miss highlights of what promises to be an altogether excellent weekend…

Let’s start with fashion and obviously I’m going to be checking out the catwalk. I have no doubt that with Bride’s legendary Fashion Director Bryony Toogood styling the shows, they’re going to be fabulous and I can’t wait to see all of those beautiful gowns – I’m totally tulle obsessed at the moment so the ‘English Rose’ theme sounds really rather perfect.

I am also looking forward to swooning over the gowns that I’ve fallen for online. Kate Halfpenny’s stunning designs have long been favourites so I’ll certainly be heading to Halfpenny London to delight in these divine dresses. I discovered Vicky Rowe and Katya Katya Shehurina here on Love My Dress and again, the opportunity to see these stunning gowns for myself is one I’m absolutely not going to miss.

Charlotte Simpson and her exquisitely detailed dresses are also calling to me and there’s simply no way I can pass by Naomi Neoh. Friends of Love My Dress, Andrea Hawkes and Minna will showcasing their latest delightful designs and Minna is also offering a 15% discount on dresses purchased before Christmas with your Brides The Show VIP card. Truly, there’s just so much to love.

If we move on from the indulgent gowns, the next logical step (for me anyway!) will be indulgent treats and eats. Two Little Cats and Elizabeth’s Cake Emporium will, I’m sure be bringing their tantalising bakes to the show and I’m already looking forward to getting a rundown on the latest flavours and designs. The Meringue Girls stand promises to be a swirl of colour and these super pretty morsels are definitely delicious. Nila Holden, baker and maker of the cutest cookies in the wedding world, will be in the Imagination Room at 2.20pm on Saturday where she’ll be teaching decoration techniques and showing you how to create perfect edible favours. I’ll see you there!

Stationery is a weak spot of mine and as Eagle Eyed Bride and Leeming Brothers have already caught my eye, I’ll be there cooing over their collections for sure. Lila is another firm favourite and if you’ve not yet had the pleasure of seeing these delicate crowns, embellished with the prettiest handcrafted flowers, then let me recommend a stop there.

Brides The Show is such a haven of inspiration, there’s something to see at every turn. However, Amie Bone, Zita Elze, Jamie Aston and Wild About Flowers will, I’m sure, be bringing floral beauty to the show. I can’t wait to see their stands which promise to be showstoppers and yet more opulent inspiration is guaranteed from Platinum Raspberry and Jemma Jade Events.

Before I make my way to the champagne bar for a post-show sit down with some well-earned bubbles, I will also be stopping by at Orient Express, Le Manoir Aux Quat Saisons, Rosewood London and Mr & Mrs Smith to dream of romantic treats, luxurious honeymoons and weddings. Always weddings.
