Aspen by Jenny Packham for a Fuss-Free and Elegant Spring Wedding

Hello you lovely lot! Busy times at Love My Dress. H.Q today – we’ve been busy wrapping 5 of these to send out to the lucky winners , who it turns out are located in the UK, Norway and Australia – how exciting! It’s incredible that selecting five winners at random  shows just how far and wide the reach of Love My Dress has become. I’m super chuffed about that!

In our late afternoon feature, we celebrating the wedding of Will and Annabel, both veterinary surgeons, tied the knot on 26th April last year at Homewood Park Hotel, in Bath – the venue was offered with exclusive use for the whole weekend – I think the fact it included a pool rather delighted the bride and groom!

It’s great to see the work of Joseph Hall on Love My Dress today too! I had the very great pleasure of meeting Joe in Reykjavik last year as he was a delegate at Nordica Photography’s ‘Get Real Iceland’ – a workshop for professional photographers in Reykjavik, that I was invited to speak at. It was easy to see why Joe’s couple’s book him to shoot their wedding, he’s one of those guys you feel you’ve known forever after just 5 minutes.

“Will and I met at University and got engaged on my birthday whilst on holiday in Marrakech and were engaged for eighteen months before getting married.  We wanted a Cotswold style country house wedding for all our friends and family – the hotel had the perfect look and we were allowed to decorate as we liked. We wanted no bright colours or fuss – just white flowers and a sense of elegance.”

“Our florist was Rachel at The Rose Shed.  We went with all white flowers with beautiful scent,  and we didn’t hold back on them – we had flowers everywhere!”

I adore Annabel’s beautiful Jenny Packham gown, ‘Aspen’.  And sorry to digress, but how excited was I to see Jenny personally Instagram a photograph from my own wedding over Christmas?  *EXCITED FACE*

“Our photographer was Joseph Hall – we saw some wedding photos he did of a friend’s wedding and it gave a real documentation of the day and felt like we were right there! No cheesy posing or formal photos! Just brilliant memories of the day.”

“We used lots of white bunting that was made by my Mum. And flowers! We also hired large ‘A’ and ‘W’ light up letters from Doris Loves“.

“My Dad walked me down the aisle to an acoustic version of ‘What Makes You Beautiful (One Direction) by Boyce Avenue.”  

The couple’s first dance was to ‘Feel So Close’ by Calvin Harris….

“The party in the evening – the DJ was incredible and vets do know how to party! Plus the free flowing Prosecco helped.”

Words of Wedded Wisdom

“We do wish we’d had the ceremony earlier so that we could have had more time to chat to everyone before the wedding breakfast.

Our other advice would be not to worry about what everyone else does at weddings, or what family members tell you to do – just do what you want and make the day perfect for YOU!”
