This afternoon, we’re featuring a summer wedding with the most beautiful little beach as the scene for the couples portraits by Lucy Smith and a lovely intimate nature inspired reception. Samantha is a beauty and holistic therapist who owns Total Beauty Clinics in Cardiff while co-owning Luna Organic Skincare with her mum and Jason is a Construction Design Manager. They married on the 7th of June at Jason’s family chapel Penuel in Carmarthen followed by a reception at The Druidstone Hotel, Pembroke, one of their favourite places and also the location of Jason’s proposal 10 months earlier.
“We both love the sea, the beach and the outdoors. Druidstone is one of our favourite places, we have surfed there and celebrated birthdays at Druidstone so our theme was to reflect the surf, sand, nature and beach life.”

Bridal bouquets and buttonholes were ordered online from Daisy Shop. The natural look was achieved with lavender placed on the church pews and simple lavender posies.
Sam wore a beautiful chapel veil with her Anoushka G gown, a rainbow moonstone necklace and earrings that the groom bought for her as a birthday present some time ago and ‘something blue’ Jimmy Choos peeped of out the bottom of her dress.
The uplifting and fresh scent of Verbena is one of Samantha’s scents so she used it wherever she could through the day.
With a good idea of the type of dress she wanted Sam found her perfect dress at High Society Bridal in Cowbridge.
“I knew I wanted an ivory lace dress with some sort of sleeve. Katrina by Anoushka G was the only dress that I tried on that I didn’t want to take off.”
“We met in a bar in Cardiff on a random spur of the moment night out in August 2002. On Sun 25th Aug 2013 we spent the bank holiday surfing at Druidstone. It was a glorious sunny day. As we were getting out of the surf, Jason asked me to “Look at this”, in his hands. I thought he had a crab or something so went to run and then he said again, I could tell he was serious. I looked in his hands and my beautiful ring was in his palm. Then he popped the question. I first replied with ‘You took my ring into the sea?’ Of course I then said yes. He had kept it in his wetsuit and booked us into Druidstone Hotel for the night.”
The young flower girls and page boy were kitted out in adorable Monsoon outfits.
Only bridesmaid and Sam’s sister wore a white Tiffany Rose dress with Daniel Patent court shoes and a Beauxoxo flower crown. As make-up artist herself Samantha was responsible for the beautiful natural look worn by the wedding party.
The brides mum Kay walked her down the aisle ‘Halo’ by Beyoncé, played on harp and sang by Tara Minton. The couple used the church vows set out by their reverend and chose Corinthians 13:4-8 for their reading as the words represent love and marriage to them as a couple.
“We chose Harriet Kiesall to make our rings as they made my rainbow moonstone engagement ring and we were so pleased with both the ring and the service. Both wedding bands match the engagement ring.”
Groom Jason wore a summery light grey Zara suit with a pale pink Missoni Tie. The buttonhole of lavender and wheat matched Sam’s bouquet.
“Our favourite moments of the day, were the time we had alone travelling to the reception and our beach photos on Druidstone beach where Jason proposed which is also one of our favourite beaches gave us time to chat, laugh, feel the sea breeze and connect as husband and wife.”
Sam and Jason’s wedding reception brought the outdoors in with burlap table runners, scattered seashells, garden country flowers and fairy lights. They added love quotes on each table and scented the room with handmade soya candles from Luna Organic Skincare.
The grooms mum, Nona made the groom’s favourite chocolate cake which was edged with left over dried lavender.
Words of Wedded Wisdom
“If you’re not sure about anything i.e. flowers, cake, music, always sleep on it before ordering.
Get as much beauty sleep and pampering ‘you time’ the week leading up to your big day, leave the last week just for you.”
I just love the beach photos of the couple looking so smiley and happy!
Thank you so much to Sam and Jason for sharing your beautiful wedding day on our pages.
Love Caoimhe xx
