The Hub, With Chosen Wedding Collective

Now this is a slightly different post – there are no photos of beautiful brides and grooms that look as if they can’t quite believe their luck. There won’t be gowns, guests or bridesmaids but there will be passion, people and stories of love because this is a little peek into the wedding industry and the truly awesome individuals that bring their absolute best to weddings week after week after week

On 5th June, the doors opened to The Hub for the very first time. This inspiring and uplifting day was the brainchild of the amazing Kiki of Chosen Wedding.

“I’m lucky enough to have worked with some incredibly talented exhibitors with Chosen Wedding Fairs and I’ve seen them grow, work together and laugh together and I’m proud to say they’ve become part of the ‘Chosen’ family.”

Kiki organises the wonderful Chosen Wedding Fairs around the country and just loves bringing people together.

“I wanted to take that feeling further and so I launched The Chosen Wedding Collective and from that came The Hub, a one day escape into an inspirational and supportive space.”

And I was lucky enough to indeed take some time out and join The Hub’s lucky attendees for this first event. I have to admit that with speakers such as Laura Caudery from Fetcham Park, the multi-award winning Kirsten Butler (aka The Little Wedding Helper) and Emma from Coco Wedding Venues appearing alongside bloggers, entrepreneurs and social media gurus, I was expecting a great day. What I actually experienced was something unforgettable.

Kiki had selected the amazing Art Pavilion, Mile End as her venue and my goodness, it looked fabulous.

But, as brilliant as all of these luxuries were, it was the people that made The Hub so utterly glorious.

Kirsten Butler of The Little Wedding Helper

Speaker after speaker shared their stories and experiences with the audience and from where I sat, I could see people scribbling notes, nodding in agreement and smiling their support. Designers sat next to stylists, bloggers chatted with gift list gurus and everyone, without exception met, mingled and connected. People who’d spoken via social media greeted each other like old friends and those who had been lucky enough to work on weddings together finally had the opportunity to chat without the pressures of work. Everywhere you looked, relationships were being built.

This is why I love the wedding industry so much. Throw suppliers together and in no time, there will be laughter and conversation. In a room full of people that could have easily been wary of saying too much to ‘the competition’ the flow of advice was astounding. Everyone wanted to do better and be better. No one cared about outdoing anyone, only about doing the best for their future clients.

The UK wedding industry is a vibrant and creative place full of people who genuinely love what they do. Kiki and The Hub are a perfect example of this unique attitude and I raise a glass to them and everyone who makes the wedding world such an extraordinary place.
