Emmy London ‘Aurelia’ Collection – Elegant Wedding Shoes Inspired By Sea Mythology

I wanted to treat you to an additional feature this afternoon – one I know true Love My Dress blog fans will adore.  One of first designers I fell in love when I started planning my wedding was Emmy London, and I’ve been a fan smitten with their designs ever since. If you’ve never seen a pair of these shoes in ‘real life’ before, all I can say is they are just the most beautiful things – the softest of leathers decorated with the most intricate of details – pearls, crystals, tiny delicate buckles.

They remained one of the most coveted items on my wedding wish list throughout my 15 months of planning for my own March 2009 nuptials – I saved and saved until I could afford a pair and to this day, they remain one of my most favourite things (I pop them on every now and again to open up the floodgates to some very fond wedding day memories).

Emmy Scarterfield, the founder of and designer behind these most heavenly heels,  made her name creating lavishly luxuriant shoes and accessories for the modern bride. Today lovely blog readers, I’d like to share Emmy’s latest ‘Aurelia’ designs with you – a beguiling collection of flat, low, mid and high heel elegance that in my view are utterly perfect for the Love My Dress bride. 

Inspired by the magical mythology of the sea, Emmy has looked to mermaids, selkies and sea sirens as her muse; strong, sultry creatures luring men to their destiny.

A dramatic landscape of waves crashes in the moonlight as iridescent coral glistens under water. Fairytale illustrations from the turn of the century and rippling Art Nouveau forms have further influenced the Aurelia collection with subtly shimmering suedes in sea green and ice blue emblazoned with ornate crystal beading. Shoes, if you will, to kill and die for.

The iconic Emmy London oval cut out detail returns, this time reworked in gold leather set against sea green suede, while flat sandals are introduced to create a relaxed bridal style.
