If you were to conduct a survey looking at the most loved brands on the high street, John Lewis would be a hot contender for the top spot. With departments stores brimming over with designer names, great products, fantastic knowledgeable staff and a website that’s easy to use and super reliable, it’s no surprise that John Lewis is the store that so many of us turn to. Today, I’m thrilled to share the very best of the John Lewis 2016 wedding edit with you and whether you’re planning or attending a wedding, John Lewis has all you need.
Let’s start with wedding decorations and John Lewis is a treasure trove of ideas and inspiration as well as stocking the most perfect products for your day. Their dedicated wedding table and room decorations page is the place to start and you’ll find a huge choice of the hottest products in the wedding world from brands such as Talking Tables and Ginger Ray. Paper pom poms, gold dipped feathers, illuminated signs and even giant balloons plus confetti, cake toppers and bunting are all to be found here.
John Lewis is also a great place to start if you’re looking to get your craft on with some wedding DIY. Not only are John Lewis haberdashery departments full of fabrics and arts and crafts materials, the staff really know their stuff and can help and advise to make sure that you have everything you need. Of course, the full haberdashery range is also online if that’s more convenient for you or if you need more items than your local store holds.
You’ll also find confectionary delights galore in John Lewis. Sweet treats like the Little Bee Bakery Wedding Cake Stack and the Macaroon Pop Lollies from The Cocoabean Company would make delicious wedding favours. If you’re planning a sweetie buffet then the big jars of old fashioned sweets including Flying Saucers and Marshmallows are just what you need (and I definitely recommend tasting them for yourself first!)
Of course, John Lewis is well known for their women’s wedding fashion and if you’re a bride, bridesmaid, close family member or guest, they’re here to help you look and feel fabulous. The complimentary personal shopper service that’s available in the majority of the department stores is a truly wonderful way to select you outfit with the help of experts. However, the John Lewis inspiration and advice hub online has a dedicated section all about how to style a country, town or modern wedding.
The Phase Eight Bridal Josefina wedding dress with its sheer neckline and low sheer back is one of my personal favourites and the John Lewis selection for Mothers of the Bride is simply brilliant.
John Lewis certainly takes weddings seriously and their range of designers is fantastic. Maids to Measure, Damsel in a Dress, Coast, Phase Eight Bridal, Ghost and Ted Baker are just some of those showcased at John Lewis plus shoes by Dune, Carvela, L.K. Bennett and Rainbow Club and accessories from the likes of Kate Spade New York and Thomas Sabo to name but a few. In short, time spent browsing the John Lewis women’s wedding fashion (and taking a look at their advice pages) is pretty much essential!
I can’t finish this look at John Lewis’s wedding offering without mentioning their legendary gift list. As well as choosing from more than 350,000 branded and John Lewis own brand products, you can also add honeymoon and charity contributions to you list or request John Lewis gift vouchers that you can use in the future. John Lewis offers free home delivery for all your items and everything bought from your list will be collated and delivered when you want. Guests can purchase in-store or online and you can also manage your gift list via their dedicated website too. It’s a genuinely great service (and I speak from personal experience here) that’s been the worthy winner of many awards.
So, there you have it, an over-too-soon run through of just a few of the many delights that John Lewis has to offer if you’re getting married or attending a wedding. Now, isn’t it time that JL produced a wedding ad that’s as great as their Christmas campaigns? That is something I would really love to see…
To find out more about the entire John Lewis range do take a look at their website or visit your local store (if you’d like to find out about gift list or personal shopping services in your nearest John Lewis, just click into the store you want to visit on this page and then look at ‘facilities and services’). John Lewis also offers wedding insurance and also foreign currency for your honeymoon.
To keep up to date with the latest from John Lewis, why not connect with them on Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Instagram or YouTube? Don’t forget they’ve also got a great app for hassle-free mobile shopping (as if you needed another excuse!)
