Friday! Hoorah! Let’s kick off the weekend with this gorgeous wedding from last summer, where a spot of rain did not dampen the spirits of the newlyweds and their guests one little bit. Hannah and Jack, who both work as doctors, tied the knot at St Peter’s Church in Hale on the 27th of August 2016. They were keen for an outdoor reception, so chose to hold their celebrations in Hannah’s parents’ garden in Cheshire. Their photographer was none other than Claudia of Claudia Rose Carter Photography – a regular favourite on the blog and a treasured Little Book for Bride’s member.
“We were so happy to have Claudia as part of our wedding day. She was really helpful in the run up to the ceremony (she fixed lots of corsages!) and was a very calming influence. Her photography style is very unobtrusive and she only stole us away for 10 minutes for bride/groom portraits, so we didn’t feel like we missed out on any of the reception. We absolutely love the photos she took – they captured the day perfectly.”

Hannah’s five maids wore gorgeous gowns by Ghost in pale green, together with little feather necklaces by Alex Monroe. Hair was by House of Finesse, with make-up by Claire Gough. Simply stunning. Hannah’s own gown was by renowned, London based, luxury bridal fashion designer, Suzanne Neville, who you will find stocked at one of our favourite bridal boutiques, Miss Bush.
“My dress and veil were by Suzanne Neville and purchased from the Wilmslow store. I loved the amazing corset and the skirt with lots of tulle and gorgeous applique around the bottom.”
Hannah employed the services of hair stylist House of Finesse and makeup artist Claire Gough. If you’re looking to book a hair stylist and makeup artist of your own, I’d like to most highly recommend our excellent, hand-picked wedding directory, which you’ll find at www.littlebookforbrides.com.
To complement her most elegant look, Hannah donned a pair of low Rainbow Club heels, a hair accessory from Pronovias, with her jewellery entailing an Alex Monroe bee necklace that was a present from Jack and her mum’s pearl earrings – and then under her dress she wore a blue garter. Are you thinking of wearing a garter?
The couple’s florist – Ruby, Sweet Pea and Me – created beautiful bouquets for the bride and bridesmaids, incorporating pretty peach blooms.
Jack wore attire from Favourbrook and looked very swish in his tails, as do the groomsmen. I wish we could revert back to ye olden days where fellas wore tails everyday, as I just love this look.
Hannah’s dad accompanied her down the aisle of the beautifully decorated church to the tune of Bach’s ‘Prelude in C’ – and the couple chose wedding rings from Hatton Garden.
The marquee was set up in the garden with long trestle tables, decorated with flower-filled jam jars, and name-cards popped into pinecones, with the feel of transporting the garden into the marquee.
“We aimed to bring the garden into the marquee with clear sides to the tent and lots of natural flowers, lavender and bay trees. We decorated the tent with gorgeous vintage festoon lighting and lit up the garden with lots of outdoor lighting in the form of paper lanterns.”
The floral stationery was all by Paperless Post – and check out the impressive table plan, wow!
Vanilla in Allseasons provided the cuisine – and guests didn’t go thirsty with a huge choice of beverages from the bar. I’m in love with the pretty floral wreath decorating the bar, just lovely!
Family and friends lent their helpful hands with the wedding plans, including Hannah’s nana, who made their scrumptious looking naked cake.
And the evening celebrations took flight with Flood the Floor performing their groovy tunes to entertain the guests and ensure a full dance floor well into the night.
Words of Wedded Wisdom
“Let people help! Our wedding was a huge group effort – family and friends helped out enormously in the run up to the big day. It made the wedding really personal and special.”
If you’re currently sourcing a photographer then be sure to take a look at more of Claudia’s gorgeous work here. Thank you so much Claudia for sharing these lovely shots of the happy couple – and Hannah and Jack, thank *you* for letting us have a little peek into your delightful day.
Here’s to a wonderful weekend lovely ones – and best of luck with getting loads of wedmin ticked off the list!
