For readers who are new to your label, would you like to introduce yourself?

I believe in making a bride feel good whilst looking good. I achieve this through using ethically sourced eco-friendly fabrics that nourish and care for the skin such as hemp silk, organic cotton and bamboo. It’s been my desire to create beautiful signature designs that are luxurious, indulgent and unique but also sustainable and fair trade.”

“I blend this sustainability with ethical beliefs as for me the most precious moment is bringing a smile to people who are much in need. Through this I have been able to create opportunities for village women in Nepal, by merging and turning their traditional skills into delicate fabrics and designs.

“I feel incredibly privileged as a designer, to be able to put their inspirational skills to good use. I am committed to continue my support in reviving their industry further as my bridal collections evolve. To be able to empower women through my work is certainly the most gratifying feeling for me as a responsible designer and a human.”

Can you tell us more about the new collection?

“My new collection celebrates the beauty, femininity and diversity of our brides and highlights that every bride has the right to express her individuality through her dress regardless of race, sexuality, size or religion. As an ethical brand, we also want to take a stand and raise awareness about the difficulties same-sex brides face when they are looking for their perfect wedding attire. With this additional collection, brides have more of a variety to mix and match its pieces with our existing collection, where each piece can compliment each other to pull out a desired look.”

“I am thrilled that this collection gives brides the opportunity to match their bridal attire with their partners’. Every bride has her very own style and personality and just like you would match the colour scheme to your groom’s outfit, brides can now match their bridal style with the one of her female partner’s without wearing the same dress or style but rather helping to highlight their individuality. Featuring blazers, suits and coloured dresses, this collection has been on my mind for quite some time and I am so happy that I was able to realise it this season and with it provide brides with more variety.”

“Cirque Nouveau as a collection offers a romantic yet innovative take on vintage circus inspirations, whilst conveying the ever desirable glamour and allure of silver screen stars. With elegant draping, demure silhouettes and whimsical embellishments, the collection conveys the opulence and drama of circus entertainment and old Hollywood fashion.”

What are the standout features in the new collection in terms of fabrics, styles and embellishments?

“It is difficult for same-sex brides to find a dress that compliments their partner’s wedding attire or vice versa. Not every bride wants to wear a white dress but options are pretty limited, especially for suits that give a feminine feel and coloured dresses that can be bridal.”

“That is why the Cirque Nouveau collection features fashion-forward suits and edgy blazers that have elements of the collection’s full-length gowns (which could be the same fabric, colour, delicate lace details and/or intricate beading). This provides a variety of options for both brides without compromising in style or their individuality.”

“The strong and vibrant colour story is complimented with the whimsical addition of exquisite embroidered details that maintains the romance of timeless starlets. The collection is designed in a way that brides can have full flexibility on the colour they want as all the styles in this collection can be ordered in more traditional bridal colours such as ivory or cream as well as 24 gorgeous shades from our colour palate for our more daring brides.”

What was the inspiration for the new collection?

“I have created this collection with a combination of greyscale tones and soft pops of colour that capture the mood of the 1930s – a time of female empowerment and social change as society expressed a zest for life even through troubling times. Enchanting and celestial, Cirque Nouveau is for the woman that exudes a playful yet demure nature and shines wherever she goes.”

Do you have a favourite design from the new range?

“My favorite is Dorothy gown which is made from light yellow milk fibre, which is soft and feminine plus the black Palazzo suit made from silk and bamboo and is very bold.”

Did you have a specific bride in mind when you were designing these gowns?

“For every bride-to-be it can be a daunting task to find her perfect bridal look but we found that brides who are having same sex or interreligious or intercultural wedding, it is particularly difficult to find variety of options to choose from. So we felt it was incredibly important for us to step forward to offer a collection that has diverse colours and personality elements to cater for. Every bride deserves the same level of exceptional service, bridal experience and options no matter their background.”

What advice would you like to give brides who are looking for their perfect wedding dress?

“The best advice I would give any bride-to-be, is to keep an open mind when it comes to choosing the wedding dress. Everyone is different, we all have different personalities and we all have unique shapes, sizes and curves. The ‘dream dress’ a bride-to-be has seen on another bride or model might not necessarily be the right dress. A bride should try on different styles to get a feel for what flatters her figure and suits her personality.”

“A wedding dress should be ‘Beauty with comfort’ brides should follow their heart and not trends. The perfect wedding dress is the one that reflects a bride’s personality, compliments her figure and most importantly, it’s the one she feels most comfortable in.”

“So I would say: “Stay true to yourself and stick to the shapes you know work. You should feel beautiful and happy while you are wearing it!”
