Pantone Ultra Violet Elegant Wedding Inspiration

Everyone in the design world (which of course includes a myriad of wedding professionals) will know that this year’s Pantone colour of the year is ‘Ultra Violet’.

Pinterest is awash with inspiring images already but as we all know, it takes time to sort the wheat from the chaffe and find the really beautiful, relatable images that might actually help us recreate something as lovely on our own wedding days. Illy from Illy Elizabeth Weddings recently created a luxury shoot for Love My Dress, inspired by this most dramatic of hues. Employing a small team of talented wedding creatives, she set out to demonstrate how such a bold colour can be elegantly and creatively incorporated into wedding day decor and style. I was delighted to see that Illy collaborated with independent designer Sienna Von Hildemar on these images too – we recently introduced our readers to London based Sienna – her design aesthetic is Love My Dress through and through. I adore these images and hope you do to.

“Our shoot was set at Cissbury Wedding Venue located in Sussex. This venue is set in the heart of the downs and features stunning barns with views of woodland that create a shielded surrounding for your wedding day. We wanted to show couples you can bring a modern theme to any wedding venue, as Sussex is well known for their barns. Our Photographer Laura from Laura Martha Photography was ready to shoot for us and create a shoot with moody hues; the latest wedding photography trend.”

“With a beautiful bespoke dark emerald green table chiffron table runner, we wanted to create a beautiful table setup to compliment the geode look we wanted to achieve, whilst keeping it edgy. Lisa from Lily Lupin Floral Design brought together an on-trend concept to compliment the table design. We added succulents along with eucalyptus and purple toned florals. The table centrepiece featured a gold terrarium with an arrangement of succulents and a beautiful amethyst geode rock.”“Mixed brass candlesticks were used with grey and purple dipped candles. This brought a luxury feel to the table setup itself and again, adding a detail that is a wedding trend for 2018.”

“We wanted to incorporate hexagonal crockery to show couples you can do something different but still keeping that elegant feel to your wedding table décor. We added rose gold cutlery to complient the mixed brass trend again. Willow Beau Designs created our printed menus and stunning amethyst agate place names. The place names were hand drawn on with white calligraphy, featuring a bride and groom place setting too.”

“Makeup and Hair gives full credit to the amazing Toni Todd. She used our models natural hair texture to create a relaxed elegant hairstyle to match her ultra violet wedding makeup. Our Bride  had the privelidge of wearing a gorgeous two piece wedding dress designed by Sienna Von Hildemar Bridal.”

“The bridal gown featured a lace long skirt with a grey/lilac tone which pieced with the ivory bridal top. Two piece gowns are very much on trend and have been for the last year, however we don’t see many of these in shoots so wanted to show couples what looks you can really create. The bridal bouquet was designed by Lily Lupin Floral Design which featured purple florals and hand dyed silk ribbons with the pantone colour. Our Groom featured wore a purple suit which worked so well with the design of this wedding. We want to show couple you don’t have to be afraid to go outside of your comfort zone and choose alternative coloured suits.”

“Bunston Bakes created a wedding cake that was totally bespoke and featured the purple hues with gold leaf details to match our wedding cake table setup. Gold Terreriums were filled with succulents again to bring the theme altogether. Our stationery was designed by Willow Beau Designs which featured one of her signature calligraphy wedding stationery designs. Elegant white and black stationery compliment the shoot so well.”
