What a stunning day, simply stunning. After such a long, hard winter, we deserve it though don’t we? I don’t want to hear a peep of a complaint about this glorious sunshine (though if you’re a gardener, I’m hearing you – our poor garden is more than a little dry right now).

This time last year, I was preparing for my Italian holiday in the Tuscan countryside. It was a glorious two weeks of relaxation and I left a little bit of my heart in those beautiful olive-grove filled hills. Italy is such a popular destination with our brides, which is why I know these images today, shared by the wonderfully talented Anneli Marinovich, will appeal to many of you.  These images were shot on location at Hever Castle in the Kent countryside and pulled influence from the Pantone colours Greenery and Pale Dogwood.

“Within the gardens the architecture transports you to the grace and calmness of the Italian lakes. Pulling influence from this, an outdoor shoot was a must for our stylist Emma, of Something Blue. Using the soft hues of the stonework as the backdrop a natural wooden table was the canvas and then layers of texture were applied.”“We wanted to create a romantic, feminine look with rich textures of gold metallic, woods and velvets to produce a luxury design.  An abundance of green flowers and foliage with pops of pink commanded the centre of the table. Over spilling into the tablescape to produce a living table impression.”

“Elements of gold in the charger plates, cutlery and candlesticks reflected the candlelight to add soft lighting and increase the feeling of romance.  Opulent blush silk runners, sage linen napkins tied with emerald velvet created interest and achieved a look which is modern and in keeping to the current trend for geometrics.”

The stationery mixed the traditional elegance of letterpress with the sophistication of calligraphy, exquisite paper stock and finished with hand torn edges.  The table plan was displayed in gold glass frames hung from the vines within the gardens’ grounds to achieve a modernistic feel to complement these features in the tablescape.

The element of texture also transferred to the attire, a beaded blush ombré dress for the English rose bride handsomely complimented by a green velvet smoking jacket for her groom.”

  1. This shoot was an absolute dream. I feel very blessed to have worked with so many amazing suppliers and the blooms made me very happy, still today I look at them and I love them so much – and that’s something! I see a lot of florals 🙂 Thank you for sharing! Zuzana – Fig & Flower
