Effortless Modern Bridal Elegance with Jesus Peiro + Green & Neutral Wedding Decor

Charterhouse editorial 89

Good evening you gorgeous bridal bunch – I’m delighted today to be supporting a number of suppliers in the industry who we love and admire, in sharing this beautiful film and set of images with you.

We don’t share a huge amount of editorial styled shoots because honestly, we know for a fact that they simply aren’t as sought after by our readers, than real weddings, or advice pieces or just a bit of a darn good long-form-read for example. So those editorials we do share have to be really, really good. This set of images sets a fine example and features a gown from the very latest 2020 collection by Spanish bridal fashion brand (that is very well stocked throughout the UK, I might add), Jesus Peiro.

The words that follow below are from wedding planner and stylist Andri of Always Andri. I was keen to learn more about this gorgeous modern bridal gown before anything else. This beautiful gown from the upcoming 2020 collections is going to be a hit with brides marrying next year, I’m sure of it. So utterly stylish and wearable.

“The Jesus Peiro 107 wedding dress from their 2020 bridal collection, sourced from Miss Bush bridal boutique, was a duchess satin A-line dress with a deep V-neckline front and back. The shoulder detail and pockets added a modern, fresh touch to its elegant, classic design.”

“To complement the petal like detailing on the wedding dress our stylist Always Andri chose accessories from PS With Love’s Precious Elements Collection. The collection celebrates the precious elements that nature provides us with, the play of light and shadows through the leaves of a tree; the way a branch droops when it’s heavy with blossom; the slow unfurling of petals. Hand made gold wedding rings were by Nikki Stark Jewellery.”The backdrop for this photoshoot is the quite sublime wedding venue, The Charterhouse in London.

“The Charterhouse dates back to the 14th century. Since that time it has served as a monastery, private mansion, boys’ school and an almshouse. It has recently been licensed for weddings and with its multiple spaces to choose from makes the perfect setting for any history lover.”

“The stunning Norfolk Cloister boasts original doorways, which date back to 1371. As soon as the team saw the cloister, we knew it would be the perfect setting for an elegant candlelight ceremony and reception table.”

“The ceremony banner by Mathilda Lundin Calligraphy was filled with fluid calligraphy to act as an organic soft backdrop to the elegant couple and clean lines of the bride’s dress.”

“The words on the banner were from a real ceremony script…”

Love is supporting each other, enjoying this adventure of life and finding dreams to share.
Love is learning when it is time to speak and when it is time to listen, it is making each other better, filling in the gaps, challenging each other but always laughing together.
Love is appreciating one another for the person that they are – and knowing that they aren’t perfect. But they are perfectly yours.

“For the invitations Mathilda created a modern sophisticated design, working with the contrast of modern set typography and organic fluid calligraphy. The design is offset with plenty of white space for a modern editorial feeling. Adding interest and texture with crisp white paper and a botanical vellum wrap which was created with a traditional pointed nib.”

“Golden highlights were added to both the wedding suite and menu to tie the design together with the golden details in the styling.”

“Hair stylist Cimone intentionally styled up the bride’s hair in a relaxed and romantic hair-do to help display the beautiful open back and shoulder detail of the Jesus Peiro dress.”

“Gentle waves helped to frame the bride’s face. MUA Louise kept the make up natural with an English Rose look of a subtly contoured eye and a rosy lip.”

“Our florist Leigh Chappell Flowers used a selection of white blooms – gorgeous scented ‘Yves Piaget’ roses, the ruffled petals of white ranunculus and tulips teamed with textural broom and the prettiness of ‘Madame Stepman’ lilac with touches of garden prettiness from hellebores combined beautifully to create a romantic but stylish look. To the table centres and urns Leigh added pieris, rosemary, camellia leaf, osmanthus and Jasmine foliage to add texture and movement.”

“The elegant botanical runner was hand drawn by Mathilda in gold ink to bring in the textures of the seasonal foliage and gold accents throughout the styling.”

“Classic Crockery provided the simple tableware and gold geo chairs that echo the monastic doorways. Workshop, a London based independent design studio provided the beautiful brass candlesticks and stem vases. Hand dyed linen napkins were provided by The Natural Dye Works.”

“Vaani of Sugar Plum Bakes created a trio of lemon buttercream cakes, all in different finishes to complement the tablescape and the bridal gown. Firstly, a 2-tier cake with textural buttercream, ruffled and uneven edges for an informal look and a touch of ranunculus. This was accompanied by a single tier cake with a rustic floral bas-relief effect – highlighted with touches of gold leaf.”

“And finally, an elegant 3 tier cake wrapped with edible hand-illustrated botanical patterns and delicate rose leaf tendrils. This last cake was finished with gold studs as a subtle nod to the stationery detail. Each cake was presented on a different gold cake stand or plate, with the main cake taking centre stage on a geometric stand.”

“The mood and styling of the editorial was perfectly captured in Maja Tsolo’s timeless images. She managed to beautifully portray the connection between the couple, the stunning setting, all the way down to the smallest details. Alongside her, the videographer Handcraft Pictures also captured the atmosphere on the day and put together a cinematic highlights video.”
