Hello lovelies, welcome to another week – and we’re in June! How on earth did that happen?! Did you catch our brilliant new wedding planning advice series that kicked off yesterday?

We’ve teamed up with our friend Helaina of Helaina Storey Wedding Planning and Design whose first feature looks at the ‘top 5 things you should you prioritise in your wedding budget?’ Not to be missed – and absolutely one to be bookmarked if you don’t have time to read today.

Our beautiful wedding today fuses classic and modern, city style. Mr & Mrs Norris tied the knot on 19th September at the Fitzrovia Chapel in London.

The day was not particularly influenced by anything but I have always liked beautiful venues and a classic look. My dress was so lovely with detailed sleeves and a long train that I wanted a venue that would compliment that.”

The bride looked the epitome of elegance on her day. Makeup artist Malkia Roberts and hair stylist  Sophia from GHABpro Hair worked their magic.

What a gorgeous Autumnal day for this stylish city wedding….

The bridesmaids wore the ‘City Goddess’ dresses in ‘blush’ by Christian Alexander – an absolute steal for £85 each.

Mr Norris wore a dapper suit by Givenchy in navy and kept it super classy with a single stem buttonhole.

By the way, we may be called ‘Love My Dress’, but did you know that our Pinterest board for Grooms is consistently amongst our top 5 most popular boards?

“Fitzrovia Chapel is a beautiful Grade II listed building that caught our eye as soon as we came across it.”

“We had a small wedding with only 50 guests so this venue fit perfectly into the vision I had for my dream day. The reception venue was right next door so it ll worked out quite well logistically.”

The bride’s mum accompanied her down the majestic isle to the sound of cellist Lidia Alonso playing Canon in D by Pachelbel.

Can you imagine the atmosphere as this scene unfolded? Magical!

“Walking down the aisle was the culmination of all the planning and work over the months and seeing my husband waiting for me was the best.”

“My husband and I met on a night out in Camden five years ago, we got engaged in December 2017 and got married nine months later in 2018.”

The newlyweds hired the very lovely Michelle Lindsell to capture their day in images. I love the time Michelle took in between the ceremony and reception to capture these fun and beautiful images.

The bride wore the Drakar gown by Pronovias, who we’re huge fans of here at Love My Dress.  Both the dress and the veil came from the wonderful Mirror Mirror Couture, one of London and indeed the UK’s most respected bridal boutiques.

“I purchased my dress from Mirror Mirror bridal in Islington – I loved the detailed sleeves and the slightly low back including the beautiful train on the dress, the dress was figure hugging but classic and something I can look back on and be happy I wore for many years to come.”

The flowers were really important to the bride who wanted to add colour and vibrancy in a classic, refined way.
Sweet Pea Flowers used blowsy garden roses for a romantic, luxe look and divine smell. Seasonal British dahlias were used to create an abundant feel and eucalyptus was included to add movement to the bouquets.

Following the ceremony and an opportunity to capture some fabulous images in the streets of London, the couple and their guests made their short way to the Percy & Founders restaurant, which adjoins the stunning Grade II* listed Fitzrovia Chapel.

This beautiful space is available for hire for weddings, civil partnerships and engagements.  By the looks of it, it provides the perfect, elegant city vibe too.

“The couple’s cake was created by a mutual friend of the couples, who is also a pastry chef.”

Words of Wedded Wisdom

“Enjoy the experience of planning and preparing s it goes by so quickly, but most importantly enjoy your day even the little hiccups that happen as most of your guests won’t even notice.”
