An Evening with Sassi Holford and Friends at RSA House, London

Sassi Holford

What are your plans on Wednesday 30th October? And, do you fancy a lovely evening meeting and getting to know more about British designer Sassi Holford and her beautiful, sought after wedding dress designs?

Fancy brining your mum or bestie along and enjoying luxuriously delicious canapes and a glass of Prosecco? Have the dresses come to you, via models who will put on a fantastic show as you sit back and enjoy and see all the latest designs from Sassi in all their full, glorious movement. And then afterwards, meet Sassi herself, and fellow wedding suppliers who will be exhibiting on the evening and chat about your wedding plans.

I’m so delighted to be sharing details of this exciting event taking place on Wednesday 30th September from 6.30 – 9.30pm, at one of London’s most beautiful wedding venues, RSA House.

Now if you’re new around here, let me briefly introduce this wonderful human being; Sassi (pictured above) has been designing and creating wedding dresses for many years now. She has boutiques in London and Taunton – the latter being where her atelier is also located, and where all here designs are handcrafted here in England. She also has a presence in London’s swanky and super cool and glamorous wedding shopping concept, The Wedding Gallery.

I’ve worked in the bridal fashion world for a decade now and in that time have come to learn that some designers are aloof, never to be seen and don’t really feel a part of their brand. Sassi is the opposite; in fact, one of the loveliest, most supportive, kind and genuine people I have met through my job. I am really honoured that we get to work with and support her business. Her gowns are also, always utterly wearable – a beautiful and natural mix of feminine, romantic and modern. I have also, always felt that Sassi pours as much from her heart as she does from her brains into running her business. Working closely with her husband Martin means this really is a family business with a heart – a brand that has grown successfully, but never too big for it’s boots.

My relationship with Sassi is quite special and goes right back to the very start of Love My Dress, almost a whole decade ago (we turn 10 years old next month!).

Back in 2009, shortly after I had published my very first few articles to Love My Dress, I was invited by a collective of established London based designers and wedding suppliers to work with them on a new event they were setting up and would exhibit at themselves.

Keen to move away from the large, corporate and impersonal vibe of the big consumer shows that had always existed, these designers wanted to create something altogether more intimate, innovative and experiential – something that provided a chance to really get amongst the designs and chat directly with the designers. The event was named ‘The Absolutely Beautiful Wedding Show’, and held at Claridges. They invited me, as a pioneer of blogging and digital marketing, to be their partner and help them promote their event.

You have to understand how huge a deal this was back then; Instagram didn’t even exist and Facebook was still in its infancy. The term ‘social media’ hadn’t even been coined yet and Love My Dress was literally just over a few weeks old. This event however introduced me to key individuals, as one of the founding members of the event was Sassi. It opened up important opportunities for me during those very early and formative months of Love My Dress – so I have a lot to thank Sassi for in believing in me in those early days.

This event concept is one that Sassi has carried forward to this day, almost a decade later – and is why I am sharing this article with you today too.

By the way, you can still read the report I published after the event here, (though forgive my 10 year old writing style and image quality!)

Join Sassi and friends for an evening of treats and bridal fashion

On the evening of Wednesday 30th October, Sassi will be joining her friends in central London to show her latest Enamour collection to a lucky collection of brides and press members.

The event will commence at 6.30pm at RSA House (The Royal Society of Arts), which is tucked away behind the Strand, just a stone’s throw from the River Thames and in the heart of London’s West End.  Lanterns will light a pathway to enter this beautiful and illustrious Georgian townhouse which is available to hire as a wedding venue. Sparkling Prosecco, stylish cocktails and a charming selection of mouth-watering canapés, with lavish entertainment, will await you in the Benjamin Franklin Room.

From 7pm, you will be taken on a journey to be immersed in glamorous surroundings. Make your way up the beautiful and historic staircase which leads to the iconic and inspiring Great Room – an exquisite space that is framed by an impressive series of epic paintings. From here, you’ll take a seat to experience the exclusive showcase of Sassi’s 2020 ‘Enamour’ wedding dress collection.

Here, Sassi, the RSA team and a number of other excellent suppliers will be on hand to chat with you about your very own wedding. Enjoy more Prosecco and nibbles and be inspired by their beautiful wedding concepts and creative ideas. You will also get a chance to meet and chat with Sassi herself at this time.
