Soft, Sensuous + Feminine Bridal Editorial in an Ancient Italian Villa

Untitled 2

Ending this working week with a beautiful editorial sent in by photographer  Anna Visintin.

My love and thanks to photographer  Anna Visintin  for these exquisite, soft and sensuous images. Whilst their beauty truly speaks for itself, Anna has taken time to talk a little about the venue, Villa Astor,  in  Sorrento, Italy, which not only played backdrop to these images but inspired them entirely.

“Our location for this shoot was Villa Astor, a beautiful ancient Villa in the South of Italy. The villa is perched on the clifftops of the Sorrentine Peninsula – a hub for a variety of destinations on the Amalfi Coast, and within easy reach of Naples, Pompeii, Positano, Ravello and Amalfi, as well as the islands of Capri, Ischia and Procida – a perfect spot for a destination wedding.”

“The mansion, that once belonged to the philosopher Benedetto Croce in the early 1900s, overlooks the sea and was built on the remains of a Roman villa dating back to the 1st century A.D. There is a real sense of the space being steeped in history as you wander around and soak in the architecture and sights.”

“This beautiful villa, which has hosted many famous artists in the past, has recently been restored with precious materials and furnished with objects and valuable antiques, chosen by the famous Parisian architect Jacques Garcia.”

“Considered the most prestigious villa of the Sorrento coast, it expresses great charm with stunning views of Mount Vesuvius overlooking the sea and the entire bay. These scenes truly do take your breath away. We can consider this wonderful place a real private museum, enhanced with marble columns, Greek and Roman statues and many other works of art.”

“Being inspired by the place, we wanted to combine marbles and stones of ancient statues with the softness of hand-dyed fabrics, using the characteristic colors of this historical Villa such as white, black, gold and different tones of powder. We hope that the readers of Love My Dress adore our images.”
