It’s such a genuine pleasure to introduce Miks Sels, a destination wedding photographer and Love My Dress highly recommended vendor, whose work is beautifully modern, bold, and full of fashion-forward elegance.
Miks is based in Latvia but spends his summers capturing weddings in Italy, Spain, and the UK. His style has this clean, minimalist edge that feels fresh and contemporary but still deeply timeless – the kind of photography that doesn’t just document a moment but turns it into art.
Whether it’s a sun-soaked villa in Tuscany, a breezy coastal wedding in Spain, or an intimate countryside celebration here in the UK, his ability to adapt his style to each setting is seriously impressive. His images feel so natural yet incredibly polished – they strike that perfect balance of looking effortlessly cool but still full of heart.
I had the chance to chat with Miks recently, and I was struck by how refreshingly relaxed and grounded he is. There’s no ego, no fluff – just a real focus on creating something meaningful for his couples. His advice? Don’t overthink it. Relax, enjoy the process, and let the day unfold. And honestly, isn’t that exactly what we all need to hear?
I’m a husband, father, and wedding photographer. During the summer I travel a lot – mostly throughout Spain, Italy the UK and my sweet home country Latvia. During winter – I’m in my element editing all the beautiful weddings I’ve captured!

Over the past two years, I’ve noticed an interesting trend: more clients are booking me directly through messaging, without a video call. Does this mean my portfolio is showcased well enough on social media and my website? I’m not entirely sure. But the key factors for success remain the same as always: strong Google reviews, a well-curated portfolio, and clear communication.

While every photographer has their own unique style that shouldn’t be compromised, I personally find it really helpful to see a bride or couple’s moodboard. It gives me a better sense of whether our styles align and helps me understand your vision for the day. Plus, it’s a great way to get to know you and your aesthetic preferences. I like to think of myself as adaptable – and able to bring your vision to life while staying true to my own creative approach.

My main advice is for the groom; lease don’t worry about the portrait session on your wedding day – it will be the easiest part of the entire day and you will enjoy it, I promise. And for couples, the less you think about having your wedding photographs taken, the better they will turn out. Relax and enjoy the process.
