Hello dearest readers and the very best midweek vibes are being sent your way. Today, I have the huge pleasure of introducing you to Launcells Barton, an absolutely glorious family-owned wedding venue that’s hidden in the north Cornish countryside.

I remember so well from my own wedding that choosing our venue was one of the hardest parts of planning but, once we found the right place, everything just fell into place. And that’s why it’s such a treat to feature this fantastic venue, where your plans, and your wedding, will most certainly find a welcoming, beautiful and truly individual home.

You’ll find Launcells Barton near Bude, on the north coast of Cornwall and it’s fair to say it’s a real slice of rural heaven. A family-owned and run venue, it offers exclusive use for the whole weekend, with accommodation and a huge range of options that really allow you to create your own perfect wedding.

The team only accept a limited number of weddings every year so that you can be sure you’ll receive all the time and attention you deserve. I spoke to the wonderful Lara Gill and Matt, who are due to be married themselves in June and have transformed Launcells Barton into an exceptional wedding venue.

“The farm had been in Matt’s family for over 70 years and, as it needed so much work, the decision came to do something. So, we sold our house, left our jobs, put a business plan in place and hoped that others would share our vision for the farm!”

From that moment, Lara and Matt have devoted themselves to bringing the farm back to life and their decision to offer exclusive-use wedding weekends, really comes from the heart.

“We don’t believe in being a wedding factory and we strongly believe that couples not only need time before and after the day but deserve it too! Weekend weddings give you the time to set up on the day before so you know everything is exactly how you want it and then enjoy a meal and a glass of fizz in the house as you relax the night before.”

“On the morning of the wedding, the bride can relax and enjoy getting ready in our beautiful Bridal Suite as our team co-ordinate everything. A few of our fields overlook the sea so we always recommend you take a little time out with your partner – walk through the barley and wheat fields or take a tractor ride to see the sun setting over the sea. On the Sunday morning, enjoy breakfast in the house and then head down to the beach for a game of cricket!”

Sunsets over the sea? That sounds like the thing of wedding day dreams! And the dream extends right through the venue. Launcells Barton is licensed for weddings, whether outdoors in the walled garden or inside the Mill Barn and there’s a church just a 2-minute walk from the house’s front door if you’d prefer a religious ceremony.

The more practical aspects of planning are also a breeze when you have Lara, Matt and the Launcells Barton team on your side. They absolutely understand that lots of couples don’t live in the area so they have a fab list of recommended suppliers to help you out, including 5 outstanding preferred caterers that cover a whole range of different styles and budgets.

Now we’ve mentioned catering, let’s move on to the celebrations and the superb Reception Barn can seat up to 200 guests (and accommodate up to 250 lucky guests for the evening). That’s said, the space is also ideal for intimate weddings and you can move through the venue throughout the day so you’re guaranteed both atmosphere and interest. You won’t be hustled out so that spaces can be turned around and redressed plus, whatever the weather decides to do, you won’t have to worry.

And, there’s no need for all your guests to leave at the end of the night, as Lara explains:

“We have accommodation for 15 in the Manor House and, with 230 acres to call your own, you can even set up a mini glamping site for 10 of your guests.”

“Lots of couples say that the whole place makes you feel like you’re in your own little bubble and that we genuinely care. We’re here from the moment you check in until the moment you leave and we’re proud to display our thank you cards from happy couples – each one means so much to us.”

If you’re looking for a venue that’s relaxed, special, memorable and utterly unique, Launcells Barton could well be everything you’re looking for, and more besides. Dates for 2021 are already being snapped up but there are a couple of weekends available for summer and autumn this year so do get in touch to find out more.
