23 Bridal Boutiques Reopening After Lockdown (London, The South, Central & North): Book Your Wedding Dress Appointment

Miss Bush 5

This feels like a wonderful ‘good news’ feature and we are excited to share it with you. When non-essential retail closed way back in March, none of us had any idea that bridal boutiques and accessory showrooms would have to close their doors for so long.

But, as we take tentative steps from lockdown, lots of our favourite boutiques and designers are preparing excitedly to welcome you back. And what a treat this will be! We’ve spoken to lots of the boutiques and designers that we’re proud to support in Little Book, our wedding venue and supplier directory and it’s been heartening to hear their plans.

Below, you’ll find all the dates and details you’ll need to be able to book yourself an appointment. There’s also a look at the measures that everyone is implementing to keep you safe when you visit. Yes, things might be a little different but the passion the businesses and the people who make them special are exactly the same. They are brilliant, committed and dedicated and they totally deserve our love and support right now.

Let’s see who’s opening and when, shall we?

Re-opening end of June

Initial appointments will now take place via phone or video call and then your second appointment will take place in the boutique itself, following strict safety rules. You’ll be asked to bring just one person with you and wear a mask from arrival and staff will also wear PPE, whilst maintaining social distancing as much as possible.

We are excited to welcome our brides back to our boutique. Navigating together through what is going to be ‘the new normal’, we are responsibly going to follow the health and safety guidelines and we are ready to work hard to stand by our brides. We are looking forward to making more brides happy and beautiful. Sanyukta, designer

Re-opening 1st July

Halfpenny London will be following government guidelines at every step – they’ve installed hand sanitiser dispensers and their stylists will also be wearing PPE. When you arrive, you’ll be provided with masks and you’ll also be asked to wash your hands. Before your visit, one of the Halfpenny London stylists will be in touch with you so that designs are ready to try on and although you’re only able to bring one guest from your own household with you, the rest of the bridal party are welcome to join in with the appointment via Zoom or FaceTime.

“It’s been a very difficult time for everyone and my heart goes out to those brides who had to postpone their wedding. We’re here to offer styling advice and look after our brides throughout all of this. When the big day finally comes around, it’ll be even more full of love and magic. We absolutely can’t wait to see all of our lovely brides again! It feels like it’s been so long… Our business is all about relationships and it’s been so bizarre being closed and not having that physical contact like we normally do. We’ve been thinking about re-opening for a while and were already preparing so we’re raring to go. Yes, it’ll be different but all we can do is embrace it and go with the flow as I’m sure you’ll agree it’s a small price to pay for everyone’s health. We’ll find a new normal together. On arrival, there’s hand sanitiser available and you’ll be asked to wear a face covering when social distancing can’t be observed. Re-opening 17th June

Before your appointment, you’ll be invited to a virtual consultation where you can start sharing ideas for your dream gown. There’ll also be a few questions to answer before you arrive and if you’re able to travel by taxi, car, bike or on foot to your appointment, the team would be super grateful. You’re able to bring one guest and when you arrive, you’ll be given a face mask (your stylist will also be wearing gloves and a mask). There will be gowns ready to try on and plenty of time to chat further and your stylist will take photos of each dress you try on and these will be shared with you after your appointment. Dresses will be hot steamed in between appointments and the townhouse will be cleaned and sanitised before and after each client as well.

We are so excited to welcome our beautiful brides back into the atelier and allow our creativity to bloom together again. Within the new environment, virtual meetings have become a part of our daily lives. This has allowed us to build new relationships with brides and develop existing ones from our own homes. Therefore, by embracing the ‘new normal’ of virtually meeting, we will now be offering a 30min complimentary call or Zoom as an important first step in our process prior to a physical fitting. We hope for this to help our brides feel at ease and be welcomed as a new friend of the HdeP family into our Spitalfields Townhouse as soon as they are comfortable to do so. Hermione, designer

Re-opening 16th June

Hand sanitiser will be available and the studio’s back door will be open for ventilation. Masks are optional but social distancing will be carefully observed. Miss Bush Bridal (Surrey) + Follow

Re-opening 15th June

Wow, 2020, what can you say? Last year, we only worried about rain and this year, I have been privy to my clients’ most personal anxieties and emotional distress. I realised that Miss Bush had achieved its aim of building a community and becoming more than a shop. Although I wish this theory hadn’t been tested in such extreme circumstances, I can let nervous brides know we are now experts in reassurance. I can say we are infinitely safer than a supermarket and easier to access than a counsellor with life-affirming power to provide you with a great dress.  Emma, owner

The layout of the famous Chapel has been completely re-configured so that social distancing is much easier and the space’s good natural airflow is another important safety plus-point. You’ll receive information about safety procedures before your appointment and you’ll be able to bring one guest with you. Your details will be securely held for Track and Trace purposes and please only attend if you and your guest are well and symptom free. Masks will be worn but the transformative effect of a great dress stays the same and Emma still plans to dress brides herself. There will be plenty of hand sanitiser and there’ll be lots of cleaning in between appointments too. Please note that to keep everyone safe, the number of appointments available each day will be very reduced so please book well in advance.

Re-opening 3rd July

The Bride will continue to operate by appointment only when they re-open but they have reduced the number of appointments available each day. During your appointment, you’ll be able to have one guest with you and you’ll be asked to wear gloves whilst browsing dresses and gloves and masks whilst in the fitting area. Hand sanitiser is available for you to use as you arrive and if you can arrive bang on time, that would definitely help to avoid any crossover between groups.

Although the current situation is still at the forefront of everyone’s mind, we want your appointment to be a time where you forget about the current reality and look forward to better things to come. Obviously, we are taking the safety measures very seriously, but we don’t want those to overtake the appointment in any way. The team at The Bride

Central & North

To complete our tour of the wonderful boutiques that are re-opening over the coming weeks, we’re heading north. As we’ve said before, we are in absolute awe of everything bridal boutiques and designers have done to prepare for a safe re-opening that still gives you that special, unique and individual experience. We’re sending love to everyone below and indeed to all of the designers and boutiques that you’ll find in Little Book, our directory that’s overflowing with superb and talented suppliers.

Enjoy shopping for your wedding dress – the experience might have changed a little but the feelings that dress elicits when you put it will be as special as always.

Perfect Daze Bridal (West Yorkshire) + Follow

Re-opening 22nd June

To prepare for re-opening, Perfect Daze has been completely refurbished to give two large fitting rooms and a showroom to provide brides with their own dedicated space. The team will wear visors for fittings and they’ve opted for visors so that you can still see facial expressions and smiles because, as we all know, the emotional side of choosing your dress is so important and the team didn’t want to compromise on this. As you’d expect, there will be plenty of hand sanitiser available and there’s extra time between each appointment so that a thorough cleaning can take place.

I’m determined to retain the luxury in every appointment. There’ll be chat over a cuppa or bubbles, then a look through the dresses followed by the all-important trying-on. Our brides won’t be rushed or stressed and we’ll be as friendly as always. This is luxury bridal in a chic setting. Emma, owner
