Wickerwood Farm, an Eco Friendly, Glamping Wedding Venue in East Sussex

There are wedding venues and then there are wedding venues that have a little bit of magic in the air from the moment you arrive. These are the places where you feel like you belong from the moment you arrive and they are the places you never want to leave.

These are the venues where you feel instantly welcomed and so when you find a wedding venue that makes you feel like this, you know you’ve found ‘the one’.

Wickerwood Farm, a unique and sustainable tipi wedding venue in East Sussex, is exactly one of these extraordinary places, a wedding venue built with love and a visionary spirit where owner Jude Hesselgrave saw the beauty and potential in a space that has been in her family for three generations.

“I clearly remember the first day I started work on what was back then a derelict Wickerwood Farm,” says Jude. “Everything was beyond overgrown. It would be an understatement to say it’s been hard work and a long journey and not something I even knew was going to work but I was determined to give it my best shot and in 2018 the gate opened to Wickerwood Farm!”

Watching my little wedding venue start from a derelict field to grow to what it is today, it’s one of the proudest things I’ve ever done.

Relaxed & Rural

And there is so much to be proud of. From the opening of the gates to weddings back in 2018, Wickerwood Farm has since become known as an individual, style-led venue, one suited to couples wanting a stylish and relaxed, rural vibe for their wedding and all encapsulated within the beautiful and peaceful surroundings.

You have three acres to call your own, you can roam through fields to the lake and you can create a wedding that fulfils all your free-spirited, bohemian dreams. Host your celebrant-led ceremony under the trees by the water’s edge and, with Jude’s styling expertise (plus the option to hire from her enviable collection of furniture and props) you can create the day you want, from start to finish.

Luxury Glamping

And when the day draws to a close, you can sleep under the stars in Wickerwood Farm’s dedicated glamping area. Luxurious bell tents, full of the most glorious and delightful details await you. Wickerwood Farm offers a truly exceptional start to married life.

“I absolutely love to share the farm, it’s of huge sentimental value to me and each time I host a wedding my late grandparents are very much in my thoughts and I hope they look down with pride on the much-loved farm they once owned.”

“We also have a strong sustainable approach to weddings here and are proud to fly the eco flag, we only host a limited number of weddings each year and encourage couples to consider a low-waste approach to their weddings we also like to encourage hiring like-minded artisan vendors with a similar sustainable approach to weddings.

As a venue owner and stylist it’s important that each wedding is unique to the couple based on their own individual style, preferences and personalities.”

“I also love working closely with our couples and getting to know them during their planning process, being asked to help bring their visions to life is a huge honour to me.”

“I recently set up a boutique furniture and prop hire side to the business to help elevate this even further which is proving very popular with couples both marrying at Wickerwood, as well as couples who have chosen other venues.
