Tuscany’s rolling landscapes, sun-drenched stone villas, and warm golden light create an undeniably magical setting for a destination wedding. Sarah and David chose the breathtaking Borgo Stomennano, a historic Italian villa, for their elegant black-tie celebration in June.
Captured beautifully in a hybrid of film and digital photography, by Love My Dress recommended vendor, Stefano Santucci, this wedding blends timeless romance with effortless Italian charm. Sarah wore a structured Wona Concept gown that perfectly complemented the setting. Their intimate ceremony, surrounded by family and friends from around the world, was followed by an al fresco reception under the stars, where classic Italian traditions and a huge millefoglie met contemporary elegance.
The day was full of precious and memorable moments, including a rooftop saxophonist welcoming guests to the reception and the flowergirl wearing the same sweet, pink dress the bride wore as a child when she was a flowergirl.

Italy has always been one of our favourite places to visit. We wanted a destination wedding since our family and friends live all around the world.

The Dress
I got my dress from Wona Concept in NYC. It was a great experience with my mom, sister and aunt. I liked multiple dress, but knew immediately when I tried on the perfect dress. They were very helpful and amazing about helping us out. It shipped to me and fit me like a glove.
I wanted a big wedding dress but also one that wasn’t heavy since we were getting married during the summer so I loved that it was strapless and light. My husband liked the classic tux look for him and his groomsmen.
I had a royal veil that was 200” long. It was super simple to pair with my dress. I can’t remember the name of the shoe brand but it was small brand but loved the pearl details that paired with my earrings.
I wore the ‘I Do’ perfume, from Anthropology. Most of us traveled from the USA so I had to buy a travel size perfume and loved the smell of it.
My earrings were by Design by Kara.
We got our bridesmaid dresses from Azazie. All my bridesmaids were spread around the country so I picked the material, length, and colour and they selected their cut. They looked beautiful.

My flower girl (our niece) wore a light pink dress. It was the same flower girl dress that I wore when I was her age to a family member’s wedding. My mom had saved it all of these years.

We both had our parents accompany us. We wanted both to be a part of our special day for everything that they do.

My song was ‘Can’t Help Falling in Love’. by Kacey Musgraves and David’s was a piano version of ‘Thousand Years’, by Christina Perri but was the piano version.
My aunt, Michelle, officiated our wedding. We wanted someone in the family to do it and she did such an amazing job.
We made our own vows to each other. We were both very nervous to do this but I feel like it made it so much more special.
Our photographer was Stefano Santucci – we loved him. I’m a photographer myself and we wanted beautiful timeless images and he delivered just that! Yes, I would recommend him. He was focused and great on our wedding day.

We met the last two months of high school and went to prom with each other. We got engaged nine years later and married a year later in Tuscany, Italy.

We just wanted something beautiful and timeless for our special day. We liked the classic white/cream flowers and greenery. Since we were in Tuscany, we didn’t have much decorating because the location was already so beautiful.

The Reception
I loved when our DJ and Sax player welcomed us to the reception by playing the sax on the rooftop. It was such a fun moment!
We provided mini olive oil bottles from Borgo Stomennano.
Our caterers were Bachini e Bellini – and we went with a traditional Italian wedding cake. We figured since we were having it in Italy, we might as well do it the Italian way.

We did a first dance to ‘Still the One’, by Bailey Rushlow. We both grew up listening to the original version and thought it was the perfect song for us.

Words of Wedded Wisdom
Enjoy every moment. I think there is a lot of things that go on behind the scenes and some things might not go as smoothly as you thought but it will still be perfect if you let it be. There were some things that went wrong, but it doesn’t bother me.
My wedding weekend was the best couple days of my life filled with all of our closest friends and family.
