The Pinterest Wedding Trends 2026 Report landed in my inbox today and when it comes to colour, it’s all about rich, romantic, organic tones; searches for ‘plum wedding theme’ and ‘merlot’ wedding are up by hundreds of percent.
Searches for ‘drapery backdrops’ are up over a staggering, 1,500% Perfect timing then that we get to share this beautiful editorial with you that embraces these very styling ideas.
We’re so used to seeing softer, lighter tones used in wedding draping, but this editorial is a beautiful reminder of just how striking a richer, deeper colour can be.
But honestly, we’re not really here for the trends, we’re here for the inspiration. And this editorial delivers plenty of that. From layered textures to the bold use of colour, there are some beautiful ideas here you could borrow and weave into your own wedding styling in a way that feels meaningful and we love that the shoot features veils by the wonderful Rebecca Anne Designs.
With much love and thanks to Modesta Photo for sharing these images – her words follow below.
Earlier this year, we brought a romantic, modern vision to life with a styled editorial wedding photoshoot at the stunning Botley’s Mansion in Surrey.
The purpose of the shoot was to collaborate with a team of talented wedding suppliers to create a contemporary wedding setup, centred around a rich burgundy colour palette and brought to life with professional models.
The concept was inspired by current wedding industry trends, where deep burgundy tones are emerging as one of the most sought-after choices, adding depth, warmth, and timeless elegance to modern celebrations.
The styling, florals, and thoughtful details were all carefully curated around this statement colour, enhancing the natural beauty and grandeur of the venue.
We also incorporated a fabric backdrop — a detail set to be especially popular in the coming year — which introduced softness and a beautifully layered, editorial feel to the space.
The overall aesthetic struck a perfect balance between classic romance and contemporary design, resulting in an effortlessly elegant look that feels both current and enduring.
The shoot took place at the magnificent Botley’s Mansion, whose refined architecture and light-filled interiors provided the perfect canvas for the vision.
The concept and planning were led by photographer Modesta Photo in collaboration with content creator Wedding Story Teller Co, alongside a team of passionate wedding creatives who came together to bring the editorial to life.
