Morning to you all 😉 I'm excited today to tell you about wedding show that is very firmly penned into my diary, and one that I'd very much like you to pen into yours too.
The event I'm referring to, is the Designer Vintage Bridal Show, which will be taking place on 8th and 9th of October at the beautiful Grade II listed Victorian Mansion that is Berrow Court in Birmingham.
The Designer Vintage Bridal Show is a new kind of wedding fair, with a strong focus on the vintage inspired wedding. Now, you can totally and utterly FORGET any pre-conceived ideas you may have about wedding fairs when it comes to this show. And that's an order. The Designer Vintage Bridal Show is NOT your average 'wedding fair'. This is a brand new bridal show, that celebrates the genuinely creative, that brings together the best independent designers and stylists and that has a passion for helping Brides create a truly vintage inspired wedding. If you are bored of trapsing around uninspiring wedding fairs, and leaving feeling flat and dejected, then THIS is most certainly the event for you.
From designer gowns to boudoir style underwear, from brand new to vintage originals, from fashion shows to afternoon tea and every head-to-to little detail – everything is all nicely wrapped up with entertainment and a chance to meet and talk to the experts. I will also be there, exhibiting as part of a small group of top UK Wedding Bloggers who have been invited along to the event to chat with Brides and other visitors. I'll be sure to bring some tasty cakes and little treats for all those who pop along to say hi, hehe !;)

The first Designer Vintage Bridal Show was held in February 2011, and was a sell-out success, with over 800 tickets sold. I was invited along to exhibit at the event and really did have a fabulous time in the best of company, where I got a chance to meet some of those people doing really beautiful things in the UK Wedding industry. Due to the overwhelming success of the first show, the team behind the event, that's Rachel Simpson (as in the talented shoe designer) and Claire Guest of The Wedding Club, have decided to host this second event. The October Designer Vintage Bridal Show will be bigger and better, with workshops, interactive demos, catwalk shows, new and exciting exhibitors and the return of some incredibly talented bridal designers.
Tickets to the October event are £8 online – available now – or £12 on the door.
Groups tickets are also available.
I strongly advise on purchasing tickets in advance given the sell-out nature of the February event. Rare is the opportunity where so may talented designers, stylists and bloggers passionate about weddings are all under one roof!

Brands you can expect to see in October include Rachel Simpson Shoes {I've just attended a trade fair called the White Gallery & her new shoe collection is to die for!}, The Wedding Club, TerryTerry Accessories, and Tallulah's Trinkets. There will be two professional Makeup Up Artists in residence to discuss the look youd like to achieve on your big day {and try it out there and then if you fancy it}.
You can browse through the gorgeous original vintage wedding dresses hanging from the 'Vintage Frocks n Crocks' rails, and pop in to chat with the super lovely Emma Case who has helped pioneer vintage and alternative style wedding photography in the UK over the past year. From flowers to table styling, from cakes to Artist Illustrators, Photographers, shoes, dresses and much much more, everything will be packed into one beautiful venue for your personal wedding planning enjoyment. And that's what planning a wedding should be all about – ENJOYING it!
