It's inspiration time once again and I have a style guide to share with you that was actually inspired by a Love My Dress reader, Michelle, who is based out in Las Vegas, USA. Through the powers of Twitter, we connected and I found out that not only is she an incredible artist and photographer (do check out her work it is so inspiring) but she also has a real melting-pot of influences for her wedding style.

Michelle has been inspired by the Art Deco style after falling in love with an art deco sheath dress, she is also loving the simplicity and ease of bohemian, wants a tinge of rock-n-roll with some vintage jewellery thrown in too. She described her wedding style as being "a hodgepodge" at the moment and wanted some tips on how to bring it all together…

I actually love the fact that Michelle is influenced by so many great styles, and I don't think it's a hodgepodge, it's wonderfully eclectic. By drawing on these different influences and combining certain elements together, I think Michelle will be able to create a truly unique and personal wedding that totally reflects her personality.

So my vision has been created by taking on board all of these influences and pulling small elements from each one. Whenever I start to create an inspiration piece I first look at what those styles represent and I like to uncover the history behind them.

Style-Vibe L-R: 1. Le Voyage 2. Trousseau by Johanna Johnson 3. Art Deco Miami 4. Art Deco Nails Dansk Mag 5. LA Art Deco 6. Viva by Johanna Johnson 7.  Terry Tynan Art Deco Lamp 8. Art Deco Lady 9. Las Vegas Palm Trees

Art Deco is very much about glamour and elegance, but rather than focus on the 1920's flapper style I have taken influence from the more relaxed and laid-back architecture of Miami. Las Vegas is quite similar in that it's all about the relaxed, party-vibe. The wedding will be held in Michelle's backyard around a pool, surrounded by palm trees and I'm sure, lovely sunny weather, which fits perfectly with the bohemian style Michelle loves so much.

The outdoor location and weather lead me to choose a colour palette that would fit with the desert surroundings and sunny blue sky's – so I have therefore opted for beautiful azure blues, delicate ivory, but mixed it in with a gothic black to add a touch of rock chick. Keeping the whole look eclectic, free-spirited and unexpected

Decor & Details L-R: 1. 1930's Art Deco Henderson 2. Holly Fulton for Smythson 3. Wedding Stationery 4. Art Deco Camera 5. Art Deco Initials Stamp 6. Art Deco Vase 7. Art Deco Metal Letters 8. Vintage brooch Bouquet 9 Wedding Cake

How about this for arriving in style, the 1930's black Art Deco Henderson motorbike would be a perfect addition to the day. The art deco vibe can also be carried through the decor in subtle ways by using vintage pieces from vases to glassware to old-style box cameras, all in the gorgeous blue colour.

For real impact I would love to see art-deco style chandeliers hanging from the palm trees and candles floating in the pool as night falls – one of Michelle's own ideas in fact.

Art-deco vintage brooches could be used to make a bouquet rather than having fresh flowers – I love these bouquets, they look wonderful and sparkly.

So that's my take on how Michelle can bring together the various influences she is drawn to at the moment, to create a perfect and personal wedding style. This is the aspect of wedding styling I love the most, taking that initial nugget of an idea and helping brides to realise how it can work. If you would like me to help you conceptualise your idea's then please do get in touch.

The art deco sheath dress can be teamed with a stunning vintage necklace, drawing in the beautiful blue colour. While the bridesmaids would look fantastic all in different styles of black dresses, with some added sparkle, and gorgeous statement jewellery like this bohemian feather embellished necklace. This will keep the look cool and not too matchy-matchy. The shoes, what can I say, how can I not include these art deco inspired heavenly beasts? To-Die-For!
