Floral Headpiece Goddess ~ A Caroline Castigliano Bride and Cornish Coastline Wedding…

Every once in a while, a wedding comes along that blows me socks off. This, my friends, is one of those weddings.

This glorious wedding and sumptuously styled Bride {hello? look at that exquisite floral headpiece!} needs little, if zero introduction from me.  Save to say, her name is Vikki, and she married her beau Scott earlier this year on the beautiful Cornish Coastline, in the most beautiful {and yes, I believe it is actually called ‘Beauty’} Caroline Castigliano wedding dress.  I am actually going to hand on over to Photographer Dominique now to tell you more, save me swooning away about how wonderful I think these photographs are…

“Vikki and Scott held their wedding at Place House, Cornwall. Overlooking St. Mawes and the sea, it was the perfect setting for their beautiful wedding.

It’s a truly special house with fantastic interiors and wonderful views of the sea. A great place to begin your wedding day! When I arrived the day before I was greeted by Vikki’s bridesmaids arranging the flowers and both families decorating the marquee.

This was a true homemade wedding with incredible attention to detail…”

What a beautiful setting for a wedding day.  Personally? I can not ever imagine not living quite near to the sea ever again! 😉

“Vikki made the intricate table plan and hand painted all of the place names herself. They also had little album booklets on all the tables with fun photos (including some from their engagement shoot), and quizzes. It was a great idea and the guests loved looking through them. Vikki and her Bridesmaids chose all the flowers and made the arrangements themselves. They couldn’t have done a better job. The end result was beautiful with lovely warm peach and yellow tones throughout.

The use of peonies in the bouquet and head piece looked stunning and really provided a focal point for the flowers. When I walked into the marquee, it took my breath away; so many beautiful details and gorgeous flowers. Vikki incorporated a nautical theme into the wedding day through the stationary and table plan, and she hung homemade buoys in the entrance to the marquee; so unusual and it worked perfectly with the seaside setting…”

“Although it rained on the wedding day, everyone enjoyed themselves in the marquee. The couple held a ceilidh dance in the marquee with the help of the Newlyn Reelers to keep guests entertained. It proved a huge hit with everyone and was a real treat to photograph. Vikki and Scott held this before their first dance, which really got the party in full swing!

As it was raining, I did a few quick portraits with a lovely white wedding umbrella just outside the marquee. But as soon as the weather dried up, I took Vikki and Scott off to a nearby field. It was the perfect spot for some intimate portraits of the two of them and allowed us to incorporate the stunning views of St. Mawes. Vikki and Scott looked so elegant and stylish and were a breeze to photograph. We had all had some serious laughs making our way up that steep hill to the top!

This wedding was so unique and special; the styling of the day was a true reflection of Vikki and Scott’s impeccable style. Together with the fantastic atmosphere, it was a perfect wedding. I couldn’t have had a better time and it was a true pleasure to photograph…”

  1. I dont think i could ever pull off something as unique as the headdress, i am totally in love with the bridesmaid dresses though! Any idea where they’re from?xx

  2. Yes i second that Katy, the bridesmaids where lovely, where are they from?
I think the veil really pulls it together. x

  3. What a lovely summer themed wedding! Love the strong contrast of the colourful effect in the photo. The “behind the scene” story has been perfectly captured in the photos. Good work!

  4. Love, love, love all the flowers – so pretty and they lasted all evening so well!
Agree about the bridesmaids dresses too – so original!

  5. Hi ladies,
Thanks so much for the kind comments, I was so shy about the whole blog thing that the wonderful and very patient Dominique had to do the write-up for me!
The grown up bridesmaid dresses were Anna Sui for Anthropologie and the younger girls dresses which you can see on the staircase were also from Anthropologie.
I also have to say that my headpiece and bouquet were created by the lovely George Mackay who is a florist in Falmouth, Cornwall. Those were the two pieces we were too nervous to do ourselves but I knew exactly what I wanted and bombarded her with pictures (including the divine Frida Kahlo) and the result was perfect. Everyone told me I would be desperate to take it off after the ceremony but I was so happy to where it all night.
    Thanks again, Vikki xxx

  6. Hi Vikki!!
Thank you so much for your replies, I am thrilled you’ve responded to the queries about the dresses, I was expecting to have to go on a personal mission to try and hunt down the designs myself!
You looked utterly beautiful on your wedding day and you made the perfect choice having Dominique to shoot your wedding, she is such a talented photographer.
Thank you for allowing me to share your beautiful day with my readers.
    Congratulations to you both 🙂
    Much love,
    Annabel xXx

  7. Lovely pictures of a fairy tell wedding. I love lace and had a lace dress for my wedding so brides veil really score high with me. Flowers are stunning and I’m sure your day was very special.

  8. The most beautiful wedding, to the last detail – lovely bride, flowers, dresses and decor and all in a beautiful location – the path past Place manor and up to that lovely church is the prettiest part of my favourite walk.
