Miss Vintage Wedding Affair ~ Sunday 19th February, Glenmore House, Surrey…

Afternoon peoples!  So I know that plenty of you must have got engaged over Christmas and the new year because my blog traffic is at an all time consistent high and I'm receiving email after email form newly-engageds, requesting advice on all manner of wedding planning. I basically need to clone myself three times at least to keep up with it all!

One thing I know some of you will be keen to do is check out what's happening on the vintage wedding fair scene. Traditionally, I have to be honest, wedding fairs haven't always really 'done it' for me. That is, with the exception of The Designer Wedding Show, which I absolutely love.  But then around a year ago, I became involved with The Designer Vintage Bridal Show, and my views on wedding fairs changed.

Today I'd like to share details of a new vintage wedding fair that will be taking place on 19th February at Glenmore House in Surrey The Miss Vintage Wedding Affair. And it looks set to be rather a fabulous little affair indeed.  Admission is free for all Brides and only £1 for everyone else, and there are some super duper suppliers exhibiting on the day…

The Miss Vintage Wedding Affair has been organsied by Amelia Barnes – a true vintage obsessive. Originally trained as a fine artist, she subsequently branched out into floristry. When she decided to get married she realised that the suburbs of Surrey didn’t really have much in the way of quirky, vintage style wedding suppliers and so she set out to do something about it…

“Much of what was offered to me for my wedding was part of a package, or had to be ordered, mass produced, from China. There just didn’t seem to be anything out there for the quirkier bride to be. So I made everything!"

For her own wedding, Amelia bought over five different vintage wedding dresses off eBay, only one of which fitted! There had to be an easier way of planning a vintage wedding.  In the years that followed, as she built up her vintage china hire and bespoke floristry company, Vintage Floral Teas, she found that she came into contact with lots of lovely vintage suppliers. So she decided to bring a bit of vintage chic to the suburbs of Surbiton to help other Surrey and South London brides to get exactly what they want!

How would you describe Miss Vintage Wedding Fair?
Miss Vintage Wedding Affair is a unique wedding fair for creative, quirky brides who want to have fun with their wedding day. Packed with high quality, inspired and original suppliers, it’s for brides who want something a little bit special. Bring your girlfriends and leave the men at home! With things to buy, eat, drink and do, it’s going to be more like a party than a traditional wedding fair.

How does it compare to the other vintage wedding fairs on the scene?
Miss Vintage Wedding Affair is currently the only vintage wedding fair in Surrey. Brides will be able to chat to lots of bespoke suppliers from and around the Surrey and South London area about how they can create their handmade day! There will be florists, cake designers, photographers, hair and beauty experts, bespoke stationers and vintage bridal wear companies (who’ll be selling their dresses on the day!)

Brides can relax in the lovely 1930s inspired bar where well-deserved refreshments can be found. The stunningly talented Restoration Cake will be providing cake for the pop-up tearoom. Brides can also have their hair and make-up done by the amazing Lucy Hayward and Samantha Pearce of The Vintage Pop-Up Parlour.
