Itsy Mini Glass Bottles ~ Perfect For Homemade Wedding Favours

I know from personal experience that one of the most frustrating things about wedding DIY projects is sourcing the appropriate materials at the right price. The internet overflows with inspiration for handmade touches to add to your day, but shopping for craft supplies can be time consuming and often more expensive than anticipated.

When Annabel and I came across Itsy, purveyors of affordable mini glass bottles and jars, we knew we had to share right away. Itsy's products possess a variety of uses, but we think they're perfect as wedding favours – the small gifts many couples choose to give their guests as a gesture of love and appreciation during a wedding reception.

Itsy's clear glass bottles and jars can be easily customised with fabric, ribbons, stickers or glass pens to match your wedding's theme or colour scheme. The options for filling them are as limitless as your imagination, but if you're stuck for ideas, here are a few of our favourites…

Heart  Homemade jam. Delia Smith has some great tips on her website, or how about something savoury like Nigella's Chilli Jam?

Heart  Booze is an obvious one. You could easily decant shop bought liquor, but why not try infusing your own vodka or making blackberry gin? Homemade limoncello would be delicious at a summer wedding.

Heart  After something softer? Try homemade lemonade or Cola Syrup.

Heart  Locally sourced honey would look lovely in jars adorned with pretty fabric and a wooden honey drizzler. Have a look at this recent post for some sunny inspiration.

Heart  I don't think you can go wrong with chutney. If you happen to be hosting a December wedding, I can personally recommend Nigella's Christmas Chutney.

Heart  Sweets will be appreciated by adults and children alike. Why not fill your jars with colourful pick-and-mix, or how about making some mini fudge? Jelly Belly Beans, personalised M&Ms or Smarties would also work perfectly.

Heart  If you're not a fan of the kitchen, don't worry. No one said your favours had to be edible! A mini jar could also hold a homemade lip scrub or some beautiful pot pouri. You could even have a go at making some tiny container candles.
