1 – Needed to make your chair back:

• Medium card or thin board, minimum of 300 gsm to make lettering
• Thin white or silver card to make stars
• Silver spray paint
• Silver glitter
• PVA glue
• Scalpel
• White or silver thread
• Ribbon in your wedding colours 1.5 ms per colour

2 – Hand draw your lettering on to your cardboard and cut out carefully.  Size to be determined by the dimensions of your chairs.  Tip – If your handwriting isn’t spot on, print your lettering using a home

  1. I like this, thank you. I will be giving them a go for sure :)
I know this is not the discussion post, but wasn’t sure if you would go back to that so hope you don’t mind my adding this comment here. There is a current petition on Change.org calling for marriage certificates to be changed so that the names and occupations of the mother of the bride / groom can be included, rather than just details from fathers.
My dad left when I was 15, and he has not covered himself in glory since. He won’t be at our wedding, and I was very sad to discover that I’m going to have him on our certificate. He hasn’t played a role in my life, and I find even thinking of him upsetting and confusing – not emotions I want to be stirred up on what is meant to be a happy day.
I just wondered if you might consider promoting this petition to readers, and also whether it might be a good topic for a future discussion post!
