Kenia and Robbie’s 29th June wedding was a vibrant, city celebration that perfectly reflected their love for London and their roots across the capital. From their riverside ‘getting ready’ start at The Mitre in Hampton Court to the historic charm of Dartmouth House in Mayfair, the day flowed effortlessly and was full of colour and joy.
The couple had a strong vision from the start: a courtyard cocktail hour with bold florals, Mexican music and a dose of party energy, set against the backdrop of a grand British venue. Dartmouth House delivered all of this and more, with its elegant interiors and that magical outdoor space for dancing, drinks and surprise piñatas.
Kenia wore a beautiful Sept gown (that’s prounounced ‘Set’ and is a Sarah Seven brand) which she found at Heart Aflutter, a much-loved East London boutique known for its modern, fashion-forward bridalwear. Joasis Photography, whose warm, editorial eye is a favourite here at Love My Dress, captured every rich detail and joyful moment of the day.
Enjoy!

The Dress
Sept, by Sarah Seven
We got ready at @mitrehamptoncourt A beautiful hotel on the thames overlooking hampton court. We had gorgeous suite with a big copper bathtub – couldn’t recommend more they were so accommodating.
I wore a Sept dress that I found at the Heart a flutter boutique. Heart Aflutter were great and super helpful. Sept is a Sarah Seven brand and I love all her designs. I would definitely recommend this studio.
I spent ages trying all sorts of dresses… I finally landed on this dress by Sept. It was the only dress I tried on and had a “this is it” moment. I loved the simplicity but also how romantic it was. It was also so comfortable and perfect for the hot weather.
I wore a custom veil made by Fashion Bride. I asked them to make me a voluminous 90s style veil and it was such a good price for a custom veil!
I went to Bicester Village with my bridesmaids and got some Jimmy Choo mules as you’ve gotta wear Jimmy Choo on your wedding day!

My gorge alternations lady at Ivory Rose Bride Alteration, then made me a custom ostrich feather skirt for the evening which was incredible! She’s so talented.
My perfume was Acqua di Parma by Magnolia Nobile. This is my signature scent, I’ve always worn jasmine.
I wanted my bridesmaids to all have their own dresses that really reflected their style and personality. Each with their own bold colour as per the theme. It turned out exactly as I’d hoped, with hot pinks, yellows and oranges.

The dresses they chose were all from different places. My maid of honour (and sister) wore a Ronny Kobo dress, another an Alexander Mcqueen number we picked up in Bicester village. They each had their own colour blocked bouquet of flowers perfectly matched to their dress by our amazing florist.
On the day I wore a simple tennis bracelet and an antique aquamarine platinum ring that is my grandmas, as my something blue. I wanted to keep it simple and not take away from the dress.

The Ceremony
My dad walked me down the aisle to a singer singing Ave Maria. It was an incredible and very moving moment.
We got married in the Church that Robbie got confirmed in and that his mum is a huge part of to this day. The church looked gorgeous and the lighting was beautiful, the whole room was glowing.

Our friend Eddie wrote and read an incredible poem ‘Come Sit With Me’, for which there was not a dry tear in the house. It was a beautiful poem with a hilarious mention of our dog. This was definitely one of the most emotional points of the day
This was followed by a bible reading by one of my longest childhood friends Izzy, who I’ve known since I was 9.

For the reading we chose Song of Solomon 2:10-13, a very intimate passage about nature’s beauty and the blossoming of love.
While we were signing the register, Robbie’s incredibly talented cousins, his brother and brothers fiance played live music (including a sax, clarinet, double bass and more).
Our photographer was Jo of Joasis Photography – absolutely gorgeous photography! Jo’s photos capture the colour and energy of the day beautifully. The film pictures are so rich, I love them.
Working with Jo was a dream. The streamlined process in the lead up to the wedding (was v obvious she was a project manager in a previous life!) was such a relief while trying to juggle normal life and wedding planning.

She gave so much genuinely useful advice in the lead up and I felt the day went more smoothly for it.
On the day Jo and her team were fabulous. I didn’t want to spend too much time posing for photos and despite me being a bit annoying in this sense, she managed to get all of the money shots! I couldn’t be more happy with the outcome.

The Dartmouth House courtyard was a perfect place for cocktails, impromptu dancing to Mariachi Band music and a surprise husband and wife piñatas!

The Reception
The drinks in the courtyard was such a special part of the day; the flowers (by Kenza), the margaritas, the Mexican sweets (by my mum) and the incredible music was just the most perfect setting.

Everyone was in SUCH a good mood, having got off the bus and the guests were ready for a drink. There were such good vibes and guests were dancing, followed by a surprise piñata and amazing speech by our Best Women, Imme.
I generally love planning parties at our house and thought it would be fine planning and styling our wedding myself. I was slightly mistaken, but I actually loved the process and really enjoyed having something creative to do for once, as my day job isn’t very creative!

We had strong Mexican colours, along with tequila luge, cocktails, mariachi band and the most unique flavoured sweets – including my Mexican heritage in the wedding theme.
After a speech by the Best Woman, we moved upstairs to the Drawing Room. The tables were decorated with colourful flower arrangements, I hand-painted guests names on green chilli peppers and we had colourful stationery to match the theme.
Our stationery was all done by my bridesmaid, Ellie, my dad and myself. I printed everything myself using printed.com which worked great!
Peppermint Poppy Flowers, a friend of my mums from when my mum used to do weddings, came very highly recommended as she is just fabulous with colours. I told her I wanted bold, multicolour, very voluminous but with a modern twist. She totally understood with the assignment using a mix of flowers from peonies to anthuriums.
Our desserts were by Linea London. and my mum. We went with Linea as they did incredible Parisian style mini cakes that looked delectable. We also wanted a croquembouche which she executed perfectly.

Evening & Dancing
Kazy Lambist, “On You” was our first dance. A Parisian singer, Kazy has been the soundtrack to our relationship since the first days dating.
Our first trip together was to Paris to seem him perform. It’s quite a dancey song, so an unusual choice but we couldn’t imagine anything else!
JCP Events provided our amazing lights and dancefloor and were really helpful – we really recommend them!
Words of Wedded Wisdom
Try and be 95% finalised two weeks before if you can so you can spend those 2 weeks focusing on yourself and not be an exhausted wreck on the day!
It gets very intense in the two months leading up and I’m glad I did have some moments in the weeks before to potter at home slowly packing bits and bobs, writing place cards while watching housewives, etc.
Our budget was exceeded by about 20% when all was said and done. We definitely went WAY over but we don’t regret it at all.
And we also wish we’d have gone with the unlimited drinks package at the venue – ha ha!
