Charlotte and Sam were married in May, with a ceremony at The Old Marylebone Town Hall and a celebration that followed at the ever-atmospheric Brunswick House in London. The day reflected everything they love; timeless style, classic details and romance, all with a nod to the moodiness and magic of old movies.
Sam wore a classic tuxedo, Charlotte’s dress brought all the puff-sleeved, ballroom inspired drama, and the whole day had an effortless cinematic elegance.
Jo from Joasis Photography documented the celebration beautifully, her relaxed, documentary approach capturing how it felt to be there. Enjoy!

The Dress
Both my dress and veil were from The Boutique & Co. Sam, the lady that helped me at my fitting, was great. Really straight forward. She just said “if there’s a doubt in your mind or anything needs changing, it’s just not the dress.”
My Mum convinced me in the end. I wasn’t sure where to start and, being petite, thought a lot of dresses would swallow me up, but she encouraged me to try them all which led to the dream dress. I loved loved everything about my dress but I really loved my sleeves.
My shoes were Prada and my perfume was Penhalligon’s Rose. Sam’s Grandma couldn’t be there but had given it to me as a present one year so it was a little nod to her.

The Ceremony
My father walked me down the aisle and we had the registrars from Westminster Council officiate our ceremony.
My favourite part of the day was saying our vows to one another and walking down the aisle. I just couldn’t wait to see Sam all morning.
Shop Items We Love
Our photographer was Jo from Joasis Photography. We were thrilled to have chosen Jo as our photographer. Neither of us likes having our photos taken (and subsequently we rarely get a good photo together) and Jo made it so effortless, and the pictures are just out of this world.

We’ve had calls from every family member and friend who’s seen these to say how exquisite they are. And even a couple who’ve said we look like a model wedding for Vogue so we’ll take that, thank you!
The photographs are perfect. They capture the day and the effortless but romantic feel we wanted and that’s very me and Sam. We can’t thank Jo enough.
How They Met
We met in high school in West Yorkshire. It was a very big school so we didn’t meet properly until our final year when we were both involved in a music concert (Sam singing and me playing guitar).
We got on famously straight away but didn’t become a couple until a few years later at University. Sam proposed in the same Italian hotel we’d visited years before on our first holiday. It was magical.
We were engaged for two years before we tied the knot!

The Reception
Sam and I are both avid readers so gave everyone a black and white Penguin Classic book as a gift. We stamped them all with “from the library of Mr and Mrs Shore”.
Our cake was from Made by Nez.

Words of Wedded Wisdom
Just make sure you have pockets of time throughout the day to spend just the two of you. It goes by in such a happy haze, you’ll miss each other if you don’t!
Notes From The Photographer: I always split my couple shoot time into 2-3 short sessions: straight after the ceremony and family photos, and then either before the dessert, if the light is lovely, or/and before the evening fun kicks off (we might have a sunset, but it is always nice for the couple to have a breather and spend a few minutes by themselves, so I make sure to give it to them and I might sneak a few photos of this moment from afar!).
The day goes fast for them, so these short portrait sessions give an opportunity, and an excuse, to leave the guests for a brief moment and enjoy being newlyweds!
