As it’s Friday, I wanted to treat you to a little afternoon treat – a lovely wedding film to help you enjoy your afternoon cuppa. This lovely film was sent in by film maker Gione da Silva. It captures bride Irem and Tony on their beautiful beachside wedding day in St Ives earlier this year. Irem very kindly shared the vision behind their day and their thoughts on their wedding being filmed.
“We both love being by the sea and the only thing we knew about our wedding day was that we would love to say our vows with the sound of splashing waves and the warm sea breeze on our skin. Our theme was simple yet elegant, wild and rustic. We wanted our décor and flowers to display this and therefore we chose a mixture of pastel colours for our wild hand tied flowers with hessian and lace table runners, ceramic jugs and glass jars for decoration. Our inspiration for the wedding came from hours of trailing through images on Love My Dress and Pinterest.”

“Gione’s creative vision and beautiful videography captured all the important moments from our wedding but not forgetting all those special small details that would normally get lost in memory. He told our story by creating a magical film! We were the luckiest couple, a beautiful warm day, surrounded by love, friends and family we were able to declare our vows on the beach just as we had always wished!”
“We visited several coastal wedding venues to find our perfect location. We found Carbis Bay Hotel & Spa in St Ives during the extensive venue search and we decided to see the lovely hotel on one of our trips down the South West coast. As soon as we walked through the entrance we both knew this would be where we would get married. It was a beach hotel with a beautiful blend of old traditional decor and a modern nautical theme. It had the turquoise blue sea and gorgeous white sands, ticking all of our boxes. It was just perfect.”
“Where we could we also added a subtle blend of my Turkish heritage and Tonys German culture.”
“We had warm German pretzels served with the canapés on the beach and candyfloss of various colours and flavours to sweeten our palates later on in the afternoon.”
“The most special part of the wedding preparations was how crafty Tony and I got at home. We made yarn balloon balls the same shade of pastel mint as the girls bridesmaid dresses. We made our own confetti cones with musical sheets and designed and crafted the nametags, invitations and guest book together. It felt more intimate and special having done all the décor just us two adding a real personal touch.”
“Gione was so relaxed on the day and blended into the background during the wedding yet he managed to capture all of our special day. Every little bit of detail was there in our amazing video.”
“His style of videography really suited what we were after and our film really did the day justice.”
“When we received our videos we could see how beautifully Gione’s creative vision had come together and we now have our spectacular wedding feature film as our very own movie.”
How lovely is this? Our love and gratitude to Gione da Silva for sharing this beautiful wedding with us today.
