We are thrilled today to be sharing details with you of the new Spring 2010 collection from Jane Taylor Millinery. If you didn't read our original feature on Jane, you can do so here.
Jane Taylor designs some of the most exquisite Millinery around today; her classic head-pieces are embellished with vintage feathers, veiling, lace, gems and antique adornments which are continuously sourced throughout Britain by Jane herself. Jane's clients include Brides and Ascot ladies, and her designs have been featured in Vogue, Tatler, Harpers Bazaar, Brides and Cosmopolitan Bride. Jane says that many of her clients had never worn hats prior to meeting her, but are now regular visitors to her studio.
I caught up with Jane and we talked about her gorgeous hats and head-pieces (Click to enlarge images and note, all prices on application unless stated).

"I have always loved designing and creating from a young age. This led me to a degree in Embroidery and to work with existing milliners. But I had so many ideas of my own I decided to set up Jane Taylor Millinery in 2004, when I was 21. Because I come from a different background than most other milliners (an embroidery degree), my pieces are unique to my style"…

"Loving sculptural shapes and embellishment, making cocktail hats, pillboxes, huge Ascot hats and mother of the bride hats fits perfectly with my passion. I also love vintage design, beaded, feathers and veiling, so my classically shaped pieces are topped with these trimmings…"

"The English eccentric, vintage clothing/jewellery/prints and beautiful materials all inspire me. I design my collections so that there is a piece everyone would love to wear. But as most of my pieces are bespoke, the client lets me know their requirements and can choose from my range of antique trims. I very rarely make two of a design. I love textures, so feathers, beaded fabrics and cloths like velvet are great to work with. Many of my clients also ask me to incorporate heirloom jewellery into the design too…"

"My new Vintage Bridal Collection is an affordable way to purchase online. It is inspired by the 1920's and 1940's and comprises the Pearl Collection, Vintage Crystal Collection and Blossom Collection. Each piece is individually made for the client so you can call me and ask to have veiling added or extra crystals or purchase directly. I can also dye most of the piece to match your dress. Quite a few of my brides request their pieces to be dyed a champagne tone which works really with if you want a vintage look. But if a bride would like a bespoke piece designed for her big day she can make an appointment to visit the studio in South West London. This gives my brides the chance to try pieces on, look through my vintage trimmings and vintage jewellery and bags."

Prices for Janes new Vintage Bridal Collection frange from £22 to £290, with bespoke orders starting at £150; "The bespoke piece requires a number of fittings to get the piece just right. But I do make piece for brides abroad! I email images during the making process so that when I sent the piece the brides is 110% happy".
Jane does not sell her Millinery via other outlets, because she prefers to meet her clients and for the process to remain as bespoke as possible. However, you can purchase from Jane's online store and create a bespoke order by emailing Jane, or calling her on 07949 ~ 050708. Jane says "Head-wear is so much about your personality, I like to at least talk the bride or see an images. It really helps when designing."
Thanks Jane for sharing these details with our readers. I have no doubt your inredible designs will inspire many, and I'm very much looking forward to meeting you soon 🙂
Much love,
♥
