I was so very delighted to receive an email from Photographer David Jenkins last week, asking if I'd like to feature this wedding on Love My Dress. It is such a great compliment that some of the best Photographers out there are willing to have their hard work and talent showcased on this website – it really gets me every time! This particular wedding is so full of elegance and style too ~ I adore Bride Kerry's pretty lace Pronovias wedding dress – I remember trying on a dress just like this myself and feeling just amazing in the figure hugging style.
Kerry and Husband Doug's wedding took place on 23 April 2010 at Ettington Park in Stratford-upon-Avon I love these images, they are so clean and crisp – the colours are beautiful and they capture a perfect day full of love and romance – and lots of gorgeous style! And who would have guessed that the majority of this wedding was actually re-planned only 6 days before the wedding day itself?…
"Due to the unexpected hiccup of the ‘ash cloud’ we had to rearrange most of the wedding in the last week. Six days before the date we suddenly had no photographer, no flowers, no band, no caterer, no suit and most importantly no Groom’s family! Thankfully with the help of lots of amazingly flexible people and a big ‘heave ho’ from the bridesmaids pulling strings across continents it all fell into place perfectly. I realised we could have arranged everything in a fortnight from scratch if we’d really needed to. Our Photographer David Jenkins did a fantastic job despite also only knowing he was photographing our wedding less than a week before the date (volcano again!). We are both thrilled with the photos…"

The stunning venue, Ettington Park…
" I just wanted something sturdy (the dress was very heavy from the waist down) that I knew I would be able to wear for two days…"
"All bridesmaids were left to fend for themselves on a ‘buy something pretty’ basis…"
"The ceremony was only for immediate family (all 26 of them) and we followed this with a big party the next day hosted by my parents at their place…"
Doug's suit was also a last-minute purchase "picked up off the hanger three days before the wedding as the tailor made suit ordered months in advance failed to fit despite four fittings!"
I simply LOVE and ADORE Kerry's 1950's style birdcage veil…
"We all made our own headpieces on the hen weekend from an antique glue gun and two pheasants shot (and eaten) by the father of the bride!"
What a beautiful wedding dress, I simply love it – the cut and fit and that incredible dress train too. I can imagine Kerry felt very elegant indeed on the day – she certainly looks it…
"A family friend Jane Fox did a fantastic job on our flowers (those seen were not the original choice due to volcanic chaos grounding the original roses abroad)…"
The cakes were made by one of Kerry's Bridesmaids…
"I had no idea what she was planning until I saw it constructed on the day. Every style had a different flavour and the carrot cake on the top tier was absolutely divine. This was Jenny’s first attempt at baking and it far exceeded my expectations…"
Just absolutely gorgeous, and I'm so very pleased for Kerry and Doug that they ended up having the perfect wedding day, despite the potential for things to have been very different thanks to a certain ash-cloud!
Thank you so very much to Photographer David Jenkins for so generously allowing these images to be reproduced on Love My Dress.
Have a wonderful day won't you, whatever you're up to 🙂
