Smiles and Love at the Zetter…

Every now and then I come across a set of wedding photographs that just makes my heart sing, purely because they are so full of love and smiles! Not because there was some big fandangled theme going on, or because there were hundreds of super stylish guests or because the Bride wore the biggest and bestest or most 'out there' designer gown she could find. Not because any of this.

Simply because of the smiles.

Smiles are infectious aren't they?  You find yourself staring at a set of smiley photographs and find yourself smiling back at them! That's what I found myself doing anyway with these very photographs, that arrived in my inbox on a day when I really needed cheering up 🙂

This is the wedding of Kirsty and Gareth who tied the knot in April this year at Islington Registry Office, followed by a reception in the trendy Zetter Hotel; "We wanted a venue that felt a little different and that reflected our personalities. The restaurant at the Zetter was a place that we felt that we would go to for an evening out and as soon as we found it, we were won over immediately.  The style of the wedding was very much inspired by the Zetter and what
would work best in the venue. My mum and dad said the day was best
described as funky not frumpy!
"

Thank you to the wonderful Catherine over at Lily and Frank Photography
for providing these smiley and lovely wedding photographs – as Kirsty
says, "the most wonderful Photographer you could ask for!" 🙂

Kirsty's pretty dress was by Augustus Jones, she found it in at a sample
sale at Morgan Davis

"I found my dress in the very first shop that I went to, when I
didn't actually think I would find anything. I felt that my first visit
would be more about finding out  what suited me rather than buying a
dress. I was trying on lots of different styles and my dress was about
the 5th dress I tried on. As soon as I was zipped up I felt transformed!
It was the most amazing dress I had ever seen and I didn't recognise
the person staring back at me in the mirror. My Mum started sobbing and I
knew this was the one – very dramatic!"

Kirsty walked down the aisle to her groom, to 'All You Need is Love'…

"Gareth and I have been together for 10 years and we really wanted to have a wedding day which reflected how much we  value our friends and family and also how much we like to have fun. We have been to so many weddings in the last few years and they can all blur into one, so we wanted a day which would be different and would be very much a 'Kirsty and Gareth' wedding. We had an amazing day and really had fun, but most importantly we were able to get married in front of the people that matter the most to us. The ceremony included the reading of two poems – one which Gareth had chosen to be read to me and  vice versa. We also had my Uncle play a solo saxophone version of 'you've got a friend' one of our favourite songs. The staff at the Zetter Hotel, were outstanding and the service provided was excellent. The food and wine was yummy and everybody got quite tipsy!  From our cheesy and silly first dance to the karaoke at the end of the disco, we didn't stop smiling."

Kirsty's veil was from Morgan Davis and her shoes were from
Debenhams.  Kirsty's hair accessory was from Brides of Bond street in
Leicester.

Old, New, Borrowed and Blue…

Kirsty borrowed earrings from her Mum…"In addition to my own
engagement ring, I also wore my Grandma's engagement ring – she was
married to my Grandad for 65 years, so my Mum gave it to me on the day
as a token of good luck…."

Cakes and Calla Lilies…

"For our
bouquets I wanted something very simple and elegant and felt that Calla
lillies were perfect. As the venue was very contemporary, we needed
something quite simple but also striking so continued with the calla
lillies but also added the purple flower."

Tina, a family friend made the cake…"Tina made a number of cakes for us to eat over
Christmas and they were fantastic, so we approached her to see if she
could make our wedding cake. She agreed and we had the most delicious
cake…"

Words of Wisdom?

"Enjoy every minute! I loved being able to spend more time with my
parents and bridesmaids and of course my husband. To keep stress levels
down, we set goals which we had to achieve each month. It meant that the
last few weeks before the wedding we could get excited rather than go
into panic that things needed to be done."

Simply lovely. Now if you've been having one of those days getting fed up with wedding planning, look back through these photographs, pick yourself up, dust yourself off and smile your way forward for the rest of today, because it will all come together in the end, and soon you'll be staring back at your own happy smiley wedding photographs…

Have a good afternoon everyone 🙂
