Love My Dress currently has a number of promotions as part of our 1st Birthday Giveaway month. I am gathering data through the applications you are sending in, that will, along with the results of my 2010 Reader Survey, help to determine the direction that Love My Dress takes from here.
One of the things I have been meaning to get to grips with for a while now, is featuring more Weddings from outside the UK. Afterall, the inspiration and love that radiate from beautiful wedding photography, transcends location and language, and a lot of you it seems, from the competition data that is coming in, are wanting to see more weddings from overseas on this here little UK Wedding Blog.
Last week, I received an email from a lady called Lee Anne Havens, of Flower Child Photography. Inspired by Photographic Artists such as Feather Love, and Emma Case (through whom Lee discovered the Love My Dress Wedding Blog), and hippie-chick imagery of the 60's and 70', Lee's photography portrays an exquisite, dreamy vision of the weddings that she is commissioned to photograph, and take a brave and bold step into something all-together more artistic and ethereal; washed out colourings and light add an almost vintage 'aged' appeal to these images that really appeals to me. Needless to say, I'm really quite thrilled to be sharing one of the Flower Child Photography Weddings with you today.
This is the wedding of Laura and Kevin, who tied the knot on 29 August this year at Mrs. Mitchell’s, Violet Hill, in Canada. The couple wanted a sweet simple and intimate Sunday afternoon affair, with an outside setting and ceremony under a big tree – nothing, as Bride Laura told me, 'super traditional'. I adore Laura's style, and I speak from my heart when I say I think these are some of the most beautiful wedding photographs I have seen. I love how they document the Bride getting ready and the couple in the gardens after the wedding ceremony…

Photographer Lee Anne told me…
"I truly love all my wedding couples and have become great friends with some of them, and with Laura and Kevin I feel that we are at the beginning of a great friendship too. Laura and I have a special connection in that she is an artist herself, and that allowed me to go with a different type of photography by directing her and Kevin more than is my usual style. I was inspired by some paintings by a few of the Old Masters along with some magazine spreads by favourite photographers, and Laura, understanding an artist's inspirations, understood my desire to incorporate this into their images.
No matter where I'm shooting, the setting lends a certain "feel" to my images – it's always been inadvertently part of my style. Shooting at Violet Hill, and what a gorgeous and romantic name for a wedding location, I couldn't help but "feel" the entire day and therefore I think it showed in the images".
Laura's beautiful dress is by Martina Liana, of Australia – chosen because of it's Godess-like and whimsical style…
Those beautiful earrings are by Cabaret Vintage of Toronto and I simply adore Laura's up do.

Words of Wedded Wisdom?
"Be true to your vision for the day – we had no first dance, no dancing at all. We had no cake – instead, fabulous desserts created by Mrs. Mitchell’s – chocolate cointreau truffle torte / creme brulee cheescake.
Our wedding was an afternoon affair, followed by dinner & toasts…"
Such a beautiful photograph to end on, that captures the love between this couple and that magic that was all around them on their wedding day.
Thanks so much Laura for taking the time to share your wedding day details with our readers, and or course, huge thanks to Lee Anne Havens of Flowerchild Photography for allowing reproduction of her exquisite photography on the Love My Dress Wedding Blog.
Flowerchild Photography is based in King township, Ontario, however, Lee Anne will travel anywhere in the world to capture beautiful imagery for her clients.
Much love,
Annabel xXx
