Glitter High Heels and a 50’s Inspired Frock…

Time for a lovely real wedding to share with you and I have just the thing with this beauty photographed all the way up North in beautiful, bonny Scotland.

Francine and Christopher tied the knot on 5 May this year at Duisdale House Hotel on the Isle of Skye.

I love an era-inspired wedding dress this 1950's style wedding dress is such a beauty {yes, the 50's, there is a theme today, see?}…

"Eleanor at 'Dig For Victory Clothing' made my dress.  I had been looking everywhere for a short, 1950's dress which had sleeves which didn't cost the earth but was having no luck. Then I came across dig for victory and all the dresses were amazing. Especially the fact she creates one-off pieces from vintage fabric.

I think my choice of 50's style wedding dress was mainly influenced by what I know suits me. You can't fight your shape, so if you work with it you can easily find your style."

"The hotel recommended Donald at Flowers by the Castle. I had a definite idea that I wanted white ranunculuis and anemones, however a few days before the wedding the florist was really struggling to get the anemones as it was at the end of the season.

I had a quick look online and switched them for parrot tulips, and I think it worked out better for it as they looked really quirky…"

The couple chose Duisdale House Hotel on the Isle of Skye as their venue…

"Chris proposed in a blizzard at the top of Whistler Mountain in Canada when we were snowboarding. So to get engaged and married in two amazing locations is very special.

We had a fantastic holiday on Skye a few years ago and always wanted to go back, so our small intimate wedding plans made it the perfect excuse to go back."

Big thanks and congratulations to Francine and Christopher 🙂 Huge thanks too to Scottish Wedding Photographer Lynne Kennedy for kindly providing these lovely photographs…

"Lynne was fantastic. When there are only six guests, your photographer really becomes part of the wedding party! We had so much fun on our wedding shoot and I think Lynne captured our wedding and the Isle of Skye beautifully.  My only request was that I really wanted to use my heart shaped umbrella and we had a little bit of drizzle, so it was perfect."
