A Summer Soiree on Film…

I count myself incredibly lucky that I know so many talented people working in this industry.  Indeed, one of the reasons I hosted my first networking event two weeks ago, the Summer Soiree [see here, here and here + a preview here} was so that I could help bring this countrywide span of talent to the North East for just one evening of letting their hair down and having a bit of fun.

Most of us are self-employed (ie, mostly working 7 days a week, rarely ever any time off), and so an evening full of decadent delights was fully deserved.  I also absolutely revelled in the opportunity to set my blogging hat to one side and take my turn as Event Planner for a change.  I loved bringing everyone together and really wanted people to leave having made new personal and business connections – and with a reminder of how brilliant this industry really is.

Mintyslippers came along to the Summer Soiree on 3rd August, and they made a little film, which I’d like to share with you today.  Enjoy my lovely ones…

Film made by Mintyslippers

In case you are wondering, that soundtrack is ‘Pumped Up Kicks’ by Foster The People – chosen by Mintyslippers as it has something of a retro vibe about it, yet is contemporary and fun and reflects the pace of the day that unfolded before them as they captured all the glamorous excitement on film (never have I seen so many fabulous dresses together at once!).

Immense thanks to Danny, Julie and the whole Mintyslippers team. You guys are amazing and I love how you have captured the essence of one heck of a fabulous evening so beautifully. And honestly, I don’t even remember you being near me when you filmed most of this! A sign of truly professional and talented film makers I say 🙂 Brides, if you are interested in having a chat with Mintyslippers about the possibility of them filming your wedding, email Danny without delay.  You can see more from Mintyslippers on Love My Dress here.

Remember you can see all the photographs from the evening here, here and here {preview}.

Have a sweet Sunday my friends,

Love Annabel x

  1. This is brilliant. Absolute brilliance. I love all of of it from the clunk clank sound of the behind the scenes to the epic tune choice. Job well done Minty Slippers. You are going straight to the top of my list for ‘must have something like this in my life’ xxx

  2. Words escape me! Truly beautiful in every way! To see someone with your beauty and success Annabel and so unassuming with it, is so very endearing and sweet! You are one very loved lady xxx

  3. Oh this is lovely Annabel! The mintyslippers team have done such a good job, they’ve really captured something of the night’s jubilant and glamorous atmosphere.
I was chatting to some of the team on the night. They’re incredibly lovely and very friendly, I reckon they would be lovely to have around on your wedding day!
    Loveaudrey xXx

  4. I absolutely love it! Caught a flimsy of myself which is exciting but more than the mintyslippers are immensely talented and I’m so sad that there is no room left in my budget to have them for my wedding in may. They are such lovely people and after a few ‘argh! why am I being filmed??!’ moments, they made me feel so at ease. A fabulous film of a fabulous night xxl

  5. What a fabulous event!! So upset I missed it but thanks to the awesome video I got to see the event and see what everyone has been talking about! Well done to you and the first class team who worked together to pull off such a superb event. Ps you look absolutely beautiful! Xxx

  6. I love it – what a wonderful film – it captures the real feel of the whole evening. The music is perfect, think I might go and watch it again, and again!
    Alison xx

  7. Totally love this video, i wasn’t there but feel like i was! well done for pulling this off, you should be really proud of yourself x

  8. ….and thank you so much everyone for your lovely words 🙂
Laura – I LOVED planning this, but learned a huge, huge amount about co-ordinating large events. I have muchos respect for that who do it for a living!

  9. I wanted something cheeky that will make people intrigued and want to actually click play. I might change it though as the Monday readers wont want that on their work screens 😛

  10. I can guarantee that Danny and Julie are completely invisible when they’re filming. They are truely brilliant! I genuinely didn’t notice them at all and they were with us for over 12 hours on our wedding day!If you are even just thinking about getting a videographer, check out their website! I still love watching our wedding film – and it’s our first anniversary in September! Kim C xx

  11. Thanks Kim. I can’t believe that was almost a year ago. I loved your venue. To say were off to film the venue and look at the exhibits. Cosmic!
    Tassels are back 🙂

  12. Fabulous video and it looks like it was an amazing night. And HOW bloody gorgeous did you look Annabel??!!!!

  13. These sorts of videos just make me depressed. They’re full of attractive people, dressed stylishly enjoying what look like tremendously sophisticated jokes. My last party consisted of 12 cans of Hoffmeister, one bag of Twiglets and four hours of recriminating. If any videographers want to film my next one please get in touch.
