"Make the day as personal as you possibly can – the people who are there are simply there to celebrate the happiness you have found. Don't follow a list of rules which say this is how a wedding 'should' be – be as free and fun with it all as much as you possibly can be!"
Friday wouldn't be Friday without a real wedding to share with you all, would it? This lovely relaxed wedding in Ireland celebrates the love beween Rich and Janette, who got married on 19th May this year, at Tempo Methodist Church in County Fermanagh, followed by a reception at The Watermill in Lisnaskea.
Janette wore the Belle dress by London based, soon-to-be Love My Dress sponsors, Belle and Bunty…
"Before I went wedding dress shopping I already had a very clear image of what I wanted and all the things I didn’t! I didn’t want anything too fussy or restrictive. When I tried on my Belle dress, I instantly loved the simple and classic elegance of it.
It had that sense of 1930’s glamour and I could swirl around as free as a daisy in it too which was so important to me. And Rich absolutely loved my dress aswell – I think he loved it even a little bit more than me, which is saying something!"

"Rich and I met at university in Southampton. I moved into a shared student house and didn't really know Rich at this stage. We spent the first few months as just 'good friends' in the pits of student grime, but it became quite clear that just good friends don't spend all their time together.
I didn't watch The Dark Knight {one of Rich's favourite films} three times with the other guys in the house and Rich wasn't buying the other girls in the house a life time supply of minstrels (he knew I had a very sweet tooth!), so it was with the help of Batman and a never ending packet of minstrels that we became 'Rich and Janette'…"
"I am a hippy, flower child at heart and in a perfect world, Rich would spend all day, every day in the countryside with a sketch book and pencil in hand! So we naturally wanted a very whimsical, carefree and airy fairy feel to the whole day. Nothing too Structured or too formal. As calm and chilled as possible with a real sense of celebration and joy.
I had went to Sunday School in the church we got married so it was also really special that I got to make my vows there…"
"I think seeing the florist at work and going through ideas with her was one of my favourite parts of the whole wedding planning.
My favourite flowers are daisies. I love the wild and free sense that they represent. I am definitely at my happiest with a daisy chain in my hair walking around in my bare feet! So my choice of flowers was always going to be something wild and natural looking…"
"My Dad gave me away – we walked down the aisle to ‘The Girl’ by City & Colour as it is one of my and Rich’s favourite bands and the song has so many happy memories connected to it!"
"The Watermill was our first and only venue viewing. We knew as soon as we saw it that it perfectly embodied everything we wanted our day to be about. It definitely had a free spirit about it and plus, it was so quaint, in the countryside and right by the sea!"
"We used photos of friends and family as bunting and lots of jam jars full of my favourite flowers – daisies and forget-me-nots. We also had a vintage suitcase we wanted our friends to fill with messages on postcards for us to read while we lay up on a beach on honeymoon…"
"The cupcakes were made by Annika Latimer. I also had a traditional cake made by a friend of Mum’s, Kathryn Little…"
"We provided hand made soaps with the date of our wedding. The soaps were made by a friend, Linda Morten.…"
Words of Wedded Wisdom…
"Ah! I think the most important thing is to never lose sight of what your day represents. It can be so easy to get bogged down with the stress and pressure of planning a wedding that you forget the ultimate meaning of the wonderful thing that you are celebrating!
Also – be prepared to be the absolute centre of attention! I was quite overwhelmed with how much focus was on me – of course it was lovely to be made such a fuss off – but make sure you buy a good long lasting lipstick as you will have LOTS of people wanting their picture taken with you!
And one of the best thing when the wedding is over is getting to see the professional photos! It really is like reliving the whole day again….We have loved browsing through moments that have been captured forever, that we had forgotten even happened. So I would say to any engaged couple, make sure you really trust your photographers style and approach…"
