Oh ladies and gents, I'm spoiling you this week already, it's only Tuesday and this is the fourth real wedding I'm so happy to share with you 🙂 Did you see the gloriously colourful Asian wedding of this morning? Please take a moment to look, it is a feast for the eyes!
This delightful wedding I'm featuring now came in from photographer Pawel Bebenca, and I adore it it's pretty pink, laid back and relaxed vibe.
Rob and Kate tied the knot on 8 June this year in Kilkenny, Ireland, with a wedding ceremony in Butler House followed by a marquee reception at home. Kate's dress is the 'Belle' design from the wonderful Belle and Bunty – a design she spotted on these very pages…
"I had an awful time trying to find a dress because I was adamant that I needed sleeves. The majority of dresses in the shops I looked at were corset type dresses which did nothing for me. The Belle and Bunty dress was literally the only dress that I liked after fifteen or so shops and countless hours on Etsy and on-line.
I was at the stage of meeting a dress maker when I actually found Belle and Bunty via this wedding feature on Love My Dress!"

And what for that beautiful vintage inspired cap veil, a design that share's Kate's name! This is the 'Kate' veil, by Minna {another designer I absolutely adore!}. Taken from the Minna website;
"Inject some vintage glamour into your special day with this stunning veil made from fine tulle. Bridal cap is embellished with UK-made lace trimming. It has a handmade silk flower accent on the side and a long sweeping veil with embellishment. Simply divine!"
"We bought are flowers wholesale and a friend Susan Eaton did my bouquet and the bridesmaids and buttonholes for the men as a wedding present. I wanted to go for a wildflower theme but they aren’t really available wholesale so I oped for the closest types I could find and I had to have peony roses and ranunculas for the bouquets as I just love them.
The flowers gave me untold pleasure throughout the day. I just loved them…"
"We decided on having a wedding at home because we wanted to replicated having the type of party we like but on a grander scale. The house is where I was born, and where we have both spent many weekends with friends and family over the years…"
"I think our location and the fact that we were having a marquee dictated that we have a very country style décor. I had lots of fabric left over from various projects and hit on the idea of making the napkins. Of course, I quickly ran out of fabric and spent a fortune (willingly) on buying new stuff. It was kind of a case of once I had started something I might as well keep going.
Even when people, thought I was mad. (I also had a lot of support and help in making everything and enjoyed it).
We used lots of bunting too…"
"Our photographer Pawel Bebenca was so relaxed and calm and having the pictures afterwards just made our day…"
"My cousin Roisin made the cupcakes (lemon drizzle, chocolate and hazelnut praline and raspberry curd). Her mother, my Aunt made the cake stand out of an old lamp apparently. They were so delicious that there were none left for me and Rob to try. Apparently, one person had ten!"
"We danced to La Mer by Charles Trenet – just cos…"
Words of Wedded Wisdom…
"Don’t drink too much champagne – that is, if you want to remember everything!
A marquee wedding isn’t for the fainthearted and I suppose you would need to be sure you have a good team of handy practical people who are all into it before going ahead. My Parents had to built a path in the week leading up to the wedding because torrential rain was turning the garden into a mud bath.
For me it is was all about having friends and family there and so I would suggest that you are generous with your guest list even if it gets a bit stressful trying to please everyone. When you look back, it is just amazing that everyone made an effort to come and see you and celebrate your wedding…"
