'Life is so short. We need photographs to remind
us just how special the time we spend with our friends and family really is. This is my biggest inspiration when shooting a wedding – the memories
of good times, shared.'
Wise words there from a talented wedding photographer whose work we
truly adore here at Love My Dress. If you're still searching for the
perfect person to capture your wedding day, read on…
'I'm David, and I'm the photographer behind the camera at Modern Vintage Weddings.'
Based in Surrey, near London, David loves to travel. This year he has been lucky enough to document weddings across the UK as well as in exciting destinations such as Florence and Barcelona.
'Originally a fine art photographer, Modern Vintage Weddings grew from my passion for romance and travel. A few years ago, I exhibited a collection of images depicting scenes in Paris and London which I called 'Modern Vintage'.'
'Through these pictures I tried to tell a story of places lovers could meet. Along with the photos I wrote poems which were love letters between an English girl and a French guy… it was all terribly romantic.'
'Around this time I was asked to photograph a friend’s wedding. I was touched by the real emotions and special moments that unfolded throughout their day, and realized that I could combine my passion for photography with the task of documenting the most romantic day of a couple's life. Modern Vintage Weddings was born.
Since then, I've been lucky enough to capture the weddings of so many great couples who have shared my vision for creative, natural and fun photography.'
'A wedding day is simply the best day for me, as a photographer, to shoot. Everyone is looking great, and is feeling happy and excited (sometimes nervous!). The range of emotions for me to document at a wedding is everything I love about photography.'
'I love capturing the key moments as the day unfolds, from the bride getting ready through to the party. I feel honoured to be there for all the celebrations. I try my best to feel part of the atmosphere, rather than observe from outside, and this helps everyone relax in front of the camera. This means I can get natural portraits of the bride, groom and guests. It is these that usually become the most treasured photographs.'
David says his style suits couples with a desire for their wedding to be documented naturally, with no fuss. Does this sound like you? Yes? Well, why not wander over to Modern Vintage Weddings or catch up with David via facebook, twitter or blog?
Much love,
Franky
