Super 8mm Wedding Film: Alex and Roy

It’s Friday lunch time and so I thought I’d treat you to something lovely to watch whilst you’re taking your lunch break.   This sweet little super 8mm movie was created by Ciné Reportage – who come with a ‘highly recommended’ stamp of approval from Love My Dress®.

Super 8mm movies have a unique, tactile flickeriness and grain quality to their film – as film make Will Cummock says on his website, ‘Super 8mm is an incredibly evocative and nostalgic style of film. For many years it’s been a staple choice for artists, music video directors and fashion filmmakers craving its unique, tactile aesthetic.”

Will was commissioned to document the wedding of Alex and Roy in cinematic style.   Roy grew up in Zimbabwe before moving to England and his wedding to Alex was a classically beautiful, rose-themed, English country garden affair but with touches of Africa throughout the day.  The couple were married in the 12th century grandeur of Malmesbury Abbey and had their reception in the stunning Abbey House Gardens.
