Brides The Show: A Huge Choice Of The Brilliant Things

Now you must know by now that Brides The Show is at the Business Design Centre, Islington 3-5 October. If, however, for some reason, you don’t yet have your tickets booked, then snap them up here quickly quickly because this autumn’s edition of the show promises to be better than ever.

A few weeks ago, I introduced you to some of the amazing design talent that is going to make Brides The Show the most fashion forward bridal event of the year. However, in my customary excitement over gowns for brides and maids, I’ve rather jumped ahead in the whole wedding planning process so today, we’re going to wind back and look at ‘the big things’, those crucial suppliers that you need to select early on. The venues, photographers, florists and planners that you choose to work with play such a huge role in your wedding and happily, some of the very best will be at Brides The Show in just a few weeks time.

When it comes to wedding venues, the iconic Blenheim Palace truly is one of the best. It’s been the go-to choice for brides looking for a little grandeur for a long time now and it’s still beyond fabulous. If rural Oxfordshire doesn’t suit your style, then London is well represented with both The Royal Horseguards One Whitehall Place and Rosewood London exhibiting too.

Bijou Wedding Venues will also be showcasing their collection of well-loved locations. From the Palladian style of Botleys Mansion to the historic charm of Notley Abbey; the Bijou portfolio includes something for everyone. If you’re a fan of the sport of kings (and even if you’re not) Suffolk’s The Jockey Club Rooms are perfect for a country-house style wedding reception and there’s plenty of accommodation on offer too. However, should you be looking to head to warmer climes for your wedding, the Bellevue Barbados and Belmond Reid’s Palace in Madeira will certainly catch you eye.

I’ve also got it on very good authority that John Nassari will be unveiling something new and very special at the show too…

I am a huge fan of all things floral so I will certainly be making a bee-line for all of the fabulous florists who will no doubt be pulling out all the stops to make their stands look amazing for Brides The Show.  Jamie Aston, Zita Elze and Mary-Jane Vaughan are green-fingered royalty and I also can’t wait to see the Wild About Flowers and Amanda Austin create for the show too. If I’m allowed, I’ll be snapping away because I just know inspiration beckons.

Way back when, I was a wedding planner so I know just how creative and organised these professionals are. I also know that having a planner involved in your wedding day is no longer a luxury reserved for the super rich or those with a HELLO! Magazine contract. It’s great to see planners taking stands at Brides The Show and after seeing quite a lot of Jemma-Jade Events online; I’m hoping to finally meet in person. Potcakes Weddings, GSP Events and also the planning teams from Bijou Wedding Venues will also be in attendance to provide planning tips and advice to all.

So, with Brides The Show covering all of ‘the big things’ you need to plan an absolutely wonderful wedding day as well as delivering an uplifting dose of inspiration, I’ll see you there!

Brides The Show runs 3-5 October at the Business Design Centre in Islington and tickets are available now online.  You can find a full exhibitor list, details of all the features of the show and more information about attending on the Brides The Show website. Also, don’t miss out on The Planner, the show’s regular newsletter featuring exclusive competitions and offers.
