Good afternoon lovelies! Are you excited that it’s Friday? I certainly am – this weekend I will be moving house to a little place near the water and in between working hard I’ve been obsessed with researching colour schemes, cushions, and fridges. Do I get an upright one, or pigeon pair? Who knew there were so many to choose from! Now, as we zoom across to Italy let today’s wonderful Italian wedding be your source of inspiration with colour scheme … for the lovely couple chose a black and white palette which is oh so sophisticated and very stylish indeed.
Meet Agnese, an actress and team leader in a French bank and her beau Riccardo, a bar manager and guitarist. They wed on 24th October 2014 in a theatre in Fidenza, with their reception in Salsomaggiore, Italy; both areas being fascinating places from their childhood and the wish to have something personal.

The beautiful bride wore two-piece separates – a black long-sleeved top with a stunning white skirt, designed by private tailor Aliona Ungureanu
Paired with Alexander McQueen heels, a pretty bag made by Riccardo, with Granma buttons by Il Mondo Di Clotilde and hair by Karma Hairstylist, Agnese is the epitome of Italian elegance.
“Our inspiration was to have an intimate wedding, like us, reserved, like us, a fairy tale in black and white. A civil ceremony in a theatre celebrated by friends.”
The stationery was all black and white with a reference to theatre and Venice and created by the couple’s event planner Floriana Brianti Chittolini from Il Ghirigoro Bottega.
“Each guest had his own ‘guest kit’ composed by a pin with the name, a thread for weaving relationships, a tissue for tears of joy, a bag of candy for conversations scented, a small fireworks to light up the cutting of the cake.”

And a very clever touch was the couple’s choice of scent to wear on the day by Yves Saint Laurent – Black Opium for Agnese and La Nuit De L’Homme for Riccardo.
“Both perfumes evoke the black theme of the marriage, we chose new fragrances we had never used before to remember the smell of that day.”
“The florist supported our wedding design in creating atmosphere. We chose white tulips, white berries and roots.”
The bride’s father gave Agnese a little treat prior to the ceremony – and I can just picture this special moment between father and daughter.
“Before arriving at the ceremony took me to drive around singing one of our favourite songs ‘il cielo è sempre piu’ blu’ by Rino Gaetano.”
“We met through mutual friends, a private concert organized just for me by Riccardo and were then inseparable for two years before the wedding day.”
Agnese and Riccardo exchanged 50’s-inspired vintage wedding rings from
Unoaerre and a violinist friend, Adriano Engelbrecht, composed the music for the whole ceremony. The couple also had *the* most lovely help from their guests when it came to their wedding vows.
“All the guests wrote the vows that were read during the ceremony and it was a surprise for us … we didn’t know what they were organising! We preserved a booklet containing all the promises.”
“For the favours we had an area dedicated to ‘confetti’ inspired by Alice in Wonderland. Each guest had to live a sentence on love to be able to create their own bag and take it home.”
The images of the couple’s day were captured by Infraordinario Studio, and they show perfect use of light, and a certain sensitivity. The result, natural, sweet pictures to remember all the little moments.
Riccardo sported a magnificent Calvin Klein suit from their 2014/2015 collection, Comete cufflinks, watch by Swatch, a Marinella Napoli tie and shoes by Fratelli Rossetti.
The reception was held at Querce Country Hotel Ristorante in Salsomaggiore and just immerse yourself in these images … the location provided the perfect backdrop.
The décor for the exterior was an eclectic mix of white outdoor furniture, a thousand lanterns, pompoms, white wool blankets, candles and flowers, whilst the restaurant was decorated with tulips and candles.
Words of Wedded Wisdom
“Be yourself, do not listen to anything else but your heart. Choose together; if you have different tastes there will definitely be a third thing that will appeal to both.
Love My Dress was a source of inspiration. Some weddings are spectacular, but they are all made with the heart and reflect the personality of the couple.
All day was memorable, and to see all the people that we love so happy was priceless.”
Thank you Agnese and Riccardo for these kind words. Yes, we love that the real weddings featured here on Love My Dress reflect our couple’s variety of loves and quirks. And your style comes across in these pretty pictures by Infraordinario Studio– thank you so much for sharing your special moments and I wish you a happy life together.
