Good afternoon lovely ones – we’re bestowing our beautiful blog with another inspiring wedding this afternoon, one I hope will inspire all you lovely couples planning a glamorous and elegant affair. Beautiful bride Min Hae married her beau Tom on 2nd May this year at Iscoyd Park in Whitchurch. Allowing the Georgian country house venue to set the tone of the day, they filled the house with the most exquisite flowers and focussed on creating a laid back and relaxed atmosphere for their guests.

Min Hae wore the most elegant and glamorous of gowns called ‘Jayne’ by British designer Eliza Jane Howell, which she purchased from Blackburn Bridal Couture in London. It’s also a treat to see that our Little Book For Brides member, photographer Jade Osborne captured these images.
“Our photographer was Jade Osborne. As soon as we saw examples of Jade’s work, we knew that she was the right photographer for us. We love her clean, timeless style, and her ability to capture special moments as they unfold. Jade beautifully and discreetly documented our wedding day, and we love looking through our photos. To top it all off, Jade is absolutely lovely and great to work with.”

“On the recommendation of one of the stylists at Blackburn Bridal, I tried on and ended up choosing the ‘Jayne’ gown by Eliza Jane Howell. I really liked the intricate beading and delicate cap sleeves.”“Each of the four bridesmaids chose their own dress within a silvery grey/blue colour scheme, from House of Fraser, John Lewis and ASOS.”
“The bridesmaids also wore pretty floral wrist corsages that were created by Selina Godsal Flowers and dried floral circlets by Artisan Dried Flowers.”
As well as her beautiful Eliza Jane Howell gown, Min Hae also wore a Korean hanbok for the wedding breakfast, which was a gift from her Aunt.
“We met eleven years ago at a friend’s birthday party. More than a decade later, we got engaged on a weekend away in Cumbria and married eight months later. Although we now live in London, we grew up in Shropshire and the West Midlands and our families are still based in the area, so that’s where we wanted to get married.
We were in search of an exclusive-use venue where we could have both the ceremony and reception, and when we came across Iscoyd Park we knew straight away that it would be perfect.”
“Iscoyd is a stunning venue that manages to combine history and elegance with a relaxed, intimate atmosphere. We ended up booking Iscoyd Park for two days, enjoying an afternoon tea and informal dinner with the wedding party the day before the wedding.
We didn’t hire a planner, but Jen, wedding and events manager at Iscoyd Park, provided support during the whole planning process as well as on-the-day coordination to ensure everything ran smoothly. Jen is absolutely brilliant and we cannot say enough good things about her or the rest of the team at Iscoyd Park.”
“Tom wore a grey three-piece suit from Hugo Boss with a pale blue shirt from Ted Baker and a tie in Nicolson tartan.”
“During the arrival of the guests and drinks reception, we had a string quartet, The Solo Players. In the evening, we had a live band called Stargazer (booked through Alive Network). They played an acoustic set during the cocktail hour, and energetic, dancefloor-filling music when the party got underway.”
“My dad walked me down the aisle to the sound of ‘We’re Going to be Friends’ by The White Stripes.”
“My ring was an eternity ring of cognac diamonds set in rose gold, from Astley Clarke. Tom chose it for me, and I love the unusual but understated design. Tom decided not to have a ring.”
“We had two readings: ‘I carry your heart’ by E. E. Cummings, and an abridged version of ‘I’ll be there for you’ by Louise Cuddon. During the signing of the register, Tom’s brother-in-law performed a beautiful version of Bright Eyes’s ‘First Day of My Life’ on his acoustic guitar.”
“For the outdoor photos, I wore a feather cape by Biba, bought from House of Fraser. The cape was a last minute purchase after a week of weather watching confirmed that it would be a rather chilly and damp day.”
“For our cake, which was supplied by Bloomsbury Wedding Cake, we opted for four tiers (Victoria sponge, sticky toffee & salted caramel, chocolate fudge, and lemon & limoncello) covered in buttercream and decorated with flowers. Bloomsbury Wedding Cakes also made cakes for two friends who were celebrating their birthdays the weekend of the wedding, which we brought out as a surprise after the speeches.”
“Selina Godsal provided all the flowers for the wedding. We didn’t have very specific ideas in mind, except that we liked white, cream and pale peachy colours, and lots of foliage and texture.
Tom liked the idea of incorporating thistles as a nod to his Scottish roots. We shared a few ideas and images with Selina, and she worked her magic to interpret them and create some beautiful arrangements.
We kept the décor simple, with flower arrangements and candles around the venue.”
“We didn’t have favours, but our place cards were pin badges printed with guests’ names (from Wedding in a Teacup), and we had a free bar.”
“We used Iscoyd Park’s recommended caterers, The Fine Dining Company, who provided delicious food and brilliant service. They also catered the meal on the evening before the wedding. We would highly recommend them to any couples with a love of good food.”
“The best thing about the day was having all our favourite people together in one place. We feel extremely lucky to have wonderful, supportive friends and family, who travelled from near and far to celebrate with us.
I don’t think there’s anything we would have done differently if we had the chance, because the day was fun, happy and shared with our nearest and dearest – we couldn’t have asked for more than that.”
“We hadn’t prepared in any way for our first dance and there was great potential for it to be awkward, so I think we were both relieved when our little nephew decided to run out and join us!”
Words of Wedded Wisdom
“This isn’t new advice, but decide on what’s important to you and allocate your time, energy and budget accordingly. Share the decision-making with your partner and try not to agonise over every choice you make – whatever form your wedding ultimately takes, if at the end you’re married to the person you want to spend the rest of your life with, it’s been a pretty great day.”
Exceptionally elegant and uplifting – I really hope this wedding has inspired some of you today.
