Happy New Year lovely ones – sending the best of love to you all for a positive, healthy start to 2018. We’ve all had a little blogging and social media break over the festive period, but are back with this week with a gentler schedule to ease us into the new year. Did you see our 2017 magazine? It’s a thing of beauty! And have you seen our beautiful new lifestyle blog, A Life Loved yet?
I’ve the sweetest treat for you lovelies today – a beautiful little wedding where images were captured up to and including the ceremony. We know that some of our readers can only afford this kind of photographic coverage and so were keen to share these images with you to remind you that investing in a photographer to capture even a small part of your day is a hugely worthwhile investment.
Meet Valentina, owner of Lele’s (a vegetarian and vegan café in Hackney) and Daniel, a marketing tech start-up sales director. The couple have recently started a vegan wedding planning service – Little Blue Tree Weddings where they specifically cater for all aspects of a vegan wedding, from not using any animal byproducts in clothing to a lack of products tested on animals – and their own wedding on the 7th of September 2017 was their first gig. Their intimate civil ceremony was held at Hackney Town Hall in London, followed by a trip to the local pub for a very heartfelt reason.

“We wanted our civil ceremony to be fun and casual but with a dash of elegance. Neither of us are religious so it was really an opportunity to exchange our vows in front of close friends and family and get down to the pub for a pint afterwards. The flat above the pub was the first place we lived together, so the setting was a nice journey down memory lane.”
Valentina continued the fun theme with her incredible watermelon-motife heels by Camilla Elphick, who creates heels which spark conversations and shoes that make one smile.
I am in complete and utter love with the stunning bride’s Ellery gown – those fabulous frill sleeves! – from My Theresa.
“It’s beautiful! It really jumped out at me as incredibly elegant but simple and fun.”
The groom chose a stylish Paul Smith blazer jacket and paired it with Woodwood trousers, a tie from Rag & Bone and casual shoes.
“Daniel had been living in New York for a couple of years and within a week of his moving back we were introduced by our mutual friend James in the pub The London Fields (now Martello Hall) on Mare St in Hackney. We only met for 5 minutes but there were sparks and numbers were got, texts exchanged and a first date followed in Stoke Newington where we now live together. A proposal followed in Rome (my home city) in the summer of 2016 and we thought it would be nice to get married on the same road we met back in March 2015.”
Adding a gorgeous flower crown by Rachael Barker, a customer of her café, an Anina Vogel heart pendant from Liberty, Valentina then finished off her stylish boho look with a spritz of Diptyque Geranium Odorata; the first ever fragrance Daniel bought her.
“My engagement ring is an antique from Berganza. Our wedding rings were provided by my oldest friends from a local jewellers in my hometown on the outskirts of Rome.”
I adore these images outside the town hall of the couple with their sweet pooch, taken by Dan of Dan Dennison Photography.
“Photographer, Dan, is a friend of Daniel’s and we thought his photo journalistic style would be a great match for the style of our day.”
Words of Wedded Wisdom
“Make sure you have a great photographer – and if you need to cut your budget anywhere don’t cut on the flowers!”
“Love My Dress always feels like people you can relate to, but the weddings are always really stylish and fun.”
What a simply delightful, pared back wedding that beautifully captures the values and little quirks of Valentina and Daniel. Thank you for sharing your day with our readers – and a big shout out to Dan for these fantastic shots of the couple enjoying such a special time with their loved ones.
