Let’s talk about Instagram for a moment, the app upon which so many of us are (let’s be honest) addicted, and waste hours of our lives scrolling and scrolling to find a compelling post within a sea of often uninspiring nonsense.

Love or loathe it, and I honestly went through a phase of loathing it, Instagram can be the most utterly magical and wonderful tool for discovering new inspirations, like minded others and feeding your creative soul. Here’s a thing – you don’t have to worry about unfollowing people whose accounts don’t bring you a snippets of actual happiness, or thought provoking goodness, that don’t make you smile or inspire you. And, ahem, there’s always the mute function for those accounts that you aren’t ready to unfollow yet but who aren’t bringing anything much positive into your daily scrolls. Don’t be afraid to use it! Since taking time to really get to grips with Instagram and curating a list of accounts I really genuinely want to follow, I have rediscovered my absolute love and adoration for this amazing, life-changing little app.

The images in this article this evening were styled by one of my favourite Instagrammers, Nancy Straughan, whose wedding we shared very recently (a must see, Nancy wore trousers and our Instagram followers went a bit nuts over her images!).

I stumbled upon some of these images on Nancy’s gorgeous Instagram account and knew that I had to share with all of you. Inspired by the colours of the shoreline and with subtle and elegant hints of the coast, these styling ideas are completely relatable and achievable for your own wedding.

“After deciding that I wanted to launch my styling company back in December 2017, I took to Instagram stories to see if anyone would like to be involved in a shoreline inspired styled shoot. I was blown away by the generous responses as I never really believed that anyone would be so kind to donate their time and skills to my project.”

“The flowers that Hazel Gardiner Design created were absolutely mind-blowingly beautiful. When I asked her to design something sea shore inspired she came up with an absolute blinder of a table runner. It even featured mushrooms that looked like coral, genius.”

“The charger plates are by Denby Pottery and the beautiful side plates on the top are made by local London ceramicist Elizabeth Macneal, just look at that magical glaze!”

“The menu and placesetting cards were designed by the wonderful Lisa and Hannah at Paper Knots. The subtle gold card brought in a sandy element to ground all the blue.

I still can’t quite believe that I managed to bring together such a wonderful group of talented designers and makers for this shoot. I’m incredibly proud of everyone that was involved and i’m still so shocked that this is what my first ever shoot looked like! Ok, I’ll stop blowing my own trumpet now.”

“Everyone involved in this shoot gave their absolute best to create a beautiful day. The cake, photography, flowers, venue and stationery were all perfect and I had an amazing time styling everything. I hope you’ll enjoy seeing a few photos of my first ever wedding shoot. I can’t wait to share more with you and I’m so happy that my dream of being a stylist is a reality.”
