A Pronovias Dress For A Timeless And Classic Blush Pink Cheshire Countryside Wedding

Jodie Jay 265

Hello lovelies. I have a feeling you may fall in love with today’s wedding. With its blush pinky tones and romantic ambience, I challenge anyone not to go weak at the knees for it.

The Oak Tree of Peover in Knutsford was the venue today’s bride and groom chose as the place to say their I Do’s. Childhood sweethearts Jodie, an online creator and blogger, and Jordan, who works for the RAF, planned the wedding themselves, which took place on 22nd April 2018.

“My veil was from Britten Weddings who I found via Love My Dress. It was the Paisley design and I’d really recommend them for any modern bride. My shoes were a pair of ivory Skalette heels from Ted Baker and my accessories included a pair of Swarovski earrings and an Adore bracelet.”

“I chose the peony and blush suede mixed with wood sage and sea salt from Jo Malone as my perfume for the day. Peony and blush suede has been my favourite for a couple of years so I wanted to make it a little different for my wedding day and the combination just worked perfectly.”

Capturing all of the romantic gorgeousness on camera was Peterborough based wedding photographer Tom Calton, whose dreamy photography style won the couple over.

“Tom manages to take the most beautiful images that almost look like they are staged when in reality, you’re just enjoying your wedding day. I’ve never seen anyone capture emotion like he manages to do. I’m so pleased we managed to have him as our photographer.”

With blush pinks and ivory being the main colour themes for the day, Jodie went for and classic look with the styling, using structured floral arrangements to add to the romantic vibe. In keeping with the romantic ambience, the bride chose a timeless off the shoulder fitted dress by Provonias, bought from Brides of Chester.

“I just loved how the dress looked on me straight away. I never thought I would have that feeling when trying on a wedding dress. I had tried on quite a few dresses that were plain lace, which is what I thought I wanted, but as soon as I saw the dress sparkle under the shop lights, I loved it. The fit was also very feminine, but classy at the same time.”

The beautiful and soft flower arrangements were all created by the talented Abergele based florists Dorothy’s Florist.

“I wanted a mix of beautiful roses with lots of other greenery. I showed our florist a couple of photos and let her take it from there.”

“We loved the oak framed building with the greenery at The Oak Tree of Peover, and how the ceremony, wedding breakfast and reception could all happen in the same place. We also liked how private it was. We knew it would just be us with our friends and family.”

“It was also the venue that gave us most of the inspiration behind the theme of the wedding. There was so much beautiful greenery and light, so we decided to just add more of that with floral arrangements and candles. I love burning candles and I loved the romantic feel they gave to the venue.”

“We had some blush pink, again with the hope of adding to that romantic feel. We also looked at what we loved in our day-to-day lives to incorporate into the wedding. For me that’s candles and flowers, and Jay loves pizza so we had wood fired pizza as our food in the evening.”

With the groom a member of the RAF, he was able to wear the RAF number one uniform for the day, changing into a French Connection via Moss Bros suit for the evening reception.

Jodie’s bridesmaids were a vision in full-length blush pink dresses from Coast and each wore a bracelet from ChloBo, a gift from Jodie on the morning of the wedding, as well as a pair of simple diamond stud earrings.

“My brother Jake walked with me down the aisle to Canon in D played by a live string quartet. We chose this because we thought it sounded beautiful and I didn’t want anything too emotional as I was scared I would cry a little too much! We walked out of the ceremony to One Day Like This by Elbow. That song really means a lot to us and it felt like a more upbeat song to start off a day of celebrations with.”

Meeting aged just 15 and 17 through mutual friends, Jordan proposed to Jodie on their 5 year anniversary in 2016 at The Louvre gardens in Paris. They then had a 22 month engagement before the wedding, time enough to plan the day of their dreams.

“Our rings were chosen from H Samuel. My engagement ring is also from H Samuel and we were really impressed with the quality for the price point.”

After the ceremony and impressive confetti throw, the bride, groom and their guests all made their way over towards where the wedding breakfast would be served and greeted guests with a drinks and cigar reception.

The pair chose to work with the interior of the barn and added greenery to enhance the beautiful oak features, without needing to do too much more.

“We didn’t need to add much to the reception venue but for the ceremony we hired pillar candles, clear pillars and an ivory aisle runner from Flossie’s to give the room a romantic feel. We decorated the mantle piece by the bar with a silk floral garland and a mix of Jo Malone scented candles and non-scented candles. We had a balloon from Bubblegum Balloons and a sign from Meeandes with our wedding hashtag. For our tables we had hurricane style vases with fresh flowers for the centre and candles around the edge.”

“Our cake was made by a family friend. The top-tier was coffee and walnut flavour, the middle was chocolate and the bottom vanilla. My auntie added fresh flowers around the side on the morning of the wedding and we added a cake topper from Not On The Highstreet. Our theme was greenery and I thought fresh flowers would compliment that nicely. My husband and I aren’t keen on fondant icing so we went for a white chocolate ganache instead.”

The couples choice in food for the wedding breakfast was nothing short of genius with pizzas provided by Pizza Principles served straight from the wood fire oven, including toppings such as salami, n’duja sausage and marinara.

“Our favours were personalised cookies made by myself and my mum – a couple of days before the wedding! We wanted our guests to have something edible as a little favour, and they seemed to go down well!”

“I have so many special memories from the day. Getting ready with my bridesmaids and mum on the morning of the wedding was amazing. My brother came up to the room where we were getting ready and a Beyonce song was playing at the time. My brother asked me to look at my phone and, as a wedding present, Jordan had bought us tickets to see Beyonce and Jay Z. It was just such good timing and a really special surprise!”

“Seeing all our guests smiling at us after we got married was also really special and the moment Jordan and I had together just after the ceremony, where we just couldn’t stop smiling.”

After the pizza was devoured and speeches over, it was time for the party to begin, kicked off with a first dance from the newlyweds.

“We chose Grow Old With Me by Tom Odell for our first dance song. We decided on it because we have always really liked the song and the words really resemble our relationship as we’ve been together since we were teenagers. Plus, we liked that it wasn’t too slow and romantic, it was fun and got everyone else up and dancing too.”

Words Of Wedded Wisdom

“Don’t let the morning of your wedding day be stressful at all. Make sure everything is done, have a friend or professional set everything up in the venue and just relax. The morning is such a special time with your loved ones and it should be fun and exciting without any worries.”

“As we got married on a Sunday, we also had a big breakfast the day before with around 20 of our family and friends to get the celebrations started. It was so nice to have this and it felt like we almost had a wedding weekend.”

“We didn’t have any canapes on the day and in hindsight, we wish we had spent the extra money and got them. Our guests didn’t seem to mind too much but I think it would have been nice to have something after the ceremony to see people through to the wedding breakfast. Dedicating a good amount of your budget to food and drink is definitely something I’d recommend.”

What a beautiful day! Thank you so much Jodie and Jordan for sharing it with us, and to Tom Calton for sharing this gorgeous dreamy imagery.

Until next time…

Much love,
