Spring Wedding Dresses by Jesus Peiro: seasonal style from the sought after Spanish brand

Jesus Peiro spring wedding dresses

Hello fabulous readers and how are you on this spring day? I don’t know what Mother Nature is doing where you are but, if I look out of my window, I can still daffodils waving in the sunshine and tulips about to burst into life.

Yes, spring is most definitely here and with it comes spring weddings. If you’re taking your vows in this spectacular season, then you’re absolutely have to read this feature as I’m talking to the lovely Marion Mathews, UK agent for Jesus Peiro, one of our favourite bridal designers. Here’s Marion’s guide to the loveliest of Spring wedding dresses available through this sought after Spanish brand – which is stocked widely throughout the UK in all the best bridal boutiques.

If you think about spring weddings, you probably have a vision of what you think should be included at this time of year. Flowers, for sure, wonderful colours, cute motifs and details that really sing. So, is there a quintessential ‘spring’ look for brides?

“One of the nicest things about a spring wedding is that everything is in full bloom and there is a real sense of nature coming alive. It can be nice to embrace this look by incorporating floral and fresh notes to your bridal look. Jesus Peiro style 958 has delicately embroidered daisies on an otherwise simple gown, a perfect nod to springtime flowers.”

I have to say that I love that gown – the neckline is so pretty and the daisies look stunning, particularly on the back of the dress. But, as always, there’s plenty of opportunity to do something a little bit different with your look, particularly as the sun starts to shine and add a little warmth to wedding days.

“As the temperatures begin to warm, spring means that we can start to wear clothes that are freer and more revealing. Style 117 from the brand new 2020 collection is a perfect spring option – a short long-sleeved embroidered dress with a stunning tulle overskirt with a deep slit. The overskirt can be removed for the evening to make a real statement.”

Countryside weddings are, quite rightly, super popular this season and for all your rural brides, Marion recommends a gown with a full skirt for a traditional feel. Style 938 gives you a beautiful, classically elegant silhouette with a full skirt and pockets plus there’s a flattering slit in the neckline. The textured fabric adds a contemporary twist and the delicate flower details on the waist is a fitting nod to spring.

Of course, spring is all about new things and Jesus Peiro’s 2020 collection has just landed in UK boutiques and stores:

“This new collection is full of really innovative looks. Style 107 pairs a deep plunging neckline with delicate petal detail on the shoulder while style 106 has a detachable dramatic overskirt which, when removed, reveals a figure-hugging mermaid shaped skirt. Meanwhile, style 115 combines the most beautiful beaded and appliqued fabric with a floaty silk organza skirt.”

However, I feel I should inject a note of caution and a dose of reality because, as we know, spring weather can be a little unreliable to say the least. What are the gowns that will work in any weather?

“Style 943 is pretty as a picture but still offers some arm coverage. This dress is actually a two-piece and the heavy lining attached to the top layer offer some leg coverage while the light tulle overskirt adds and extra layer with a lighter touch.”

“It’s also a great idea to consider accessories that can provide a little warmth if the day is cooler than your expect. Our ethically produced Italian cardigans are ideal for spring and, even if you don’t wear this to your ceremony, it can be so handy to have to pull on at other points in the day.”

“Speaking of the weather, veils can be tricky to manage in breezy spring weather but don’t worry – a long veil will blow in the wind, not matter what you do but actually, this looks really cool in photographs. If you’re worried about windy weather, opt for a birdcage veil or ditch the veil altogether and wear a dramatic headpiece or one of our funky, chunky flower crowns instead.”

Finally, I just had to ask Marion what creates the perfect spring bridal ensemble?

“I love a hint of greenery to a spring bridal look, maybe through your accessories or even you bridesmaid dresses or your bouquet. I love spring looks that have an overall sense of freshness and light, symbolising the move to longer, brighter days.”

Brighter days – doesn’t that sound wonderful?
