I am immensely proud to be able to support the member of our much loved Little Book Wedding Directory.

Our recommended supplier Bristol based Heartfelt Vintage, who specialise in the most utterly beautiful vintage bridal fashion, have shared these beautiful images inspired by Dior. The shoot was conceived and created in collaboration with Able Mabel Designs.

“We wanted to create a bridal shoot that paid homage to Dior’s iconic ‘New Look’ and gave us an opportunity to indulge in some pure, vintage styling. We often style our collection of vintage wedding dresses and vintage inspired accessories to fit a more contemporary context, but we wanted this shoot to be heavily evocative of the late 1940s and early 1950’s.”

“Our concept and creative direction was developed on a three hour bus journey back from London to Bristol following an inspirational visit to the Christian Dior: Designer of Dreams exhibition at the V&A.”

“For vintage lovers and fashion designers alike, Dior is seen as the godfather of contemporary fashion design. His ‘New Look’ defined an era and it continues to be replicated, copied and reproduced today.”

“From the styling to the setting and the photography to the poses we wanted to be as authentic as possible. Our photographer took inspiration from vintage fashion photography, particularly iconic photographers of the time such as Cecil Beaton and Norman Parkinson.”

“Our florist created wrist and lapel corsages that were popular at the time. Our seamstress took two very pedestrian M&S jackets from the local charity shop and re-shaped them with boning to create the classic New Look shape. One of our models, Evie is even the granddaughter of an original Dior model.”
