Ethically Produced Honeymoon Lingerie

Each piece in Kate’s debut lingerie collection has been crafted from the silk off-cuts left over from the bridal gown production process. This means brides can enjoy their honeymoon knowing that they’re wearing lingerie that is not only beautiful but also kind to the planet.

Although all our wedding dresses are made-to-order (meaning no over-production), we often end up with leftover silk lengths after a gown has been cut out, and this capsule collection of lingerie pieces was a way to utilise those beautiful, leftover silks. Kate Beaumont

Kate, what inspired you to create this beautiful lingerie collection?

I wanted to create some lingerie pieces that were super-feminine and super-comfortable to wear. Sexy. in a very relaxed and female way.

I often think lingerie is designed with the male gaze in mind, and women feel so much sexier when they’re not trussed up in something uncomfortable. These pieces are all made from pure silk, so gorgeously soft and sensuous on the skin. They’re created with lots of ribbon ties – for untying at whatever pace works for you…

We’ve created these pieces with a nod to vintage lingerie shapes and styles, but as with my wedding dress designs, they’re subtle and easy-to-wear.

Short hems are fluted and hang really prettily – we’ve cut several of these shapes on the bias and they’re not designed to be worn tight, so they skim over the figure beautifully.

Tell us about the designs themselves, what are they made from?

All the designs are made from pure silk. For this capsule collection we’ve used some of the heavyweight silk-satin we use in our bias cut silk designs: the ivory silk of Lily and Gladioli, the oyster silk of Honeysuckle and Amaryllis, and the champagne silk of Viola and Lavender. We’ve also used the hammered silk-satin of Lunaria, which looks gorgeously light and has great movement for our ruffle silk cami and shorts set.

We can create any of these designs in the same fabrics used for our brides’ dresses too – a perfect wedding day memento, and an ideal anniversary or valentines gift.

What sizes do you lingerie pieces come in?

Currently, our lingerie is available in sizes XS, SM, ML and XL which covers UK sizses 6/8 up to UK size 18/20.

We can always go bigger or smaller on request though – just like our wedding dresses, these pieces are all made-to-order and based on specific measurements.
