Amy in Alena Leena for her Mediterranean Inspired Wedding in Whites and Neutrals

Greetings lovelies, today, we’re thrilled to share with you a wedding that exudes modern, contemporary charm with a Mediterranean-inspired flair. Amy and Luke’s nuptials, which took place on September 10th, 2022, in the serene Warwickshire countryside, were a true vision of sophisticated elegance with a refreshing all-whites and neutrals palette.

Amy looked the epitome of modern chic, graced the aisle in a super classy gown by the renowned Ukrainian designer, Alena Leena – a discovery she made at The Bridal Boutique Warwickshire. The gown boasted a fabulous thigh slit, which along with her statement pearl earrings, added some effortless sass and drama to her look. Amy’s bridesmaids wore stylish green ensembles which perfectly complemented the Mediterranean-inspired vibe, adding a fresh and vibrant pop of colour to the palette. Enjoy!

How They Met

Luke proposed to me on our seven year anniversary. We went for a Sunday roast at one of our favourite country pubs, I wasn’t feeling very well and just wanted to go home but he was desperate to go for a walk. I was walking a bit in front and went to turn round to say lets go and he was on one knee.

He proposed with my mum’s engagement ring so we could then go to the jewellery quarter to find one.

We got engaged in February 2019 and married in 2022 – it was our 10 year anniversary.

We are both quite chilled people so wanted the day to also feel like this. We love anything mediterranean and wanted an indoor but outdoor feeling wedding. Our colours were white, neutrals, olive green and we wanted to incorporate black too.An Aleena Leena Wedding Dress.

Shoes, Veil & Accessories

I wore a pearl embellished cathedral length veil, it was single layer. I purchased this from the wedding dress boutique which was great because i got to try on lots of different styles with my dress.

My shoes were the Arabella block heel, by Harriet Wilde. I wore my mums engagement and wedding ring as Luke proposed with my mum’s engagement ring.

I wore the Savannah earrings from Kiri and Belle bought from The Bridal Boutique. For the evening, I swapped to diamante chandelier style earrings that I borrowed from my mum. My perfume was Acqua Di Parma’s ‘Vaniglia’. My Nan and Grandad gave me some birthday money, it was the last gift my Grandad gave me before he passed away so I used this to buy my perfume.

An Alena Leena Wedding Dress

My wedding dress was by Alena Leena, from The Bridal Boutique Warwickshire.

I was so excited to try on dresses but didn’t think i would find anything i would like but Madi who owns the boutique made me feel so comfortable and totally got my style and vibe. I had the best experience and couldn’t have asked for a better one. I would recommend to any bride who wants something a bit different or customised.

I either wanted a dress that was heavily embellished or super clean and a split was a must. When I tried on embellished dresses though i personally felt like i was at a special event and not a bride.

I love that my dress allowed me to do exactly what i wanted all day, it was so comfortable and easy to move in and it even had pockets. I danced all night and twirled round until the end.

I didn’t want to take my dress off!

The Ceremony

My Dad walked me down the aisle to ‘Stand By Me’, by The Kingdom Choir. This is one of mine and my mum’s favourite song. I love a choir but didn’t have the space for one so this was perfect.

We had two readings, Wild Awake by Hilary T Smith and the other was a personalised reading about me and Luke. Each of the readings were chosen by the readers – Luke’s mum and a close family friend.

Our rings are by Mitchel and Co., based in Birmingham Jewellery Quarter. They create bespoke rings and it was such a lovely process designing my engagement ring and selecting wedding rings that match.

Wedding Photography by Kayleigh Pope

We loved how light and airy Kayleigh Pope’s photos were, our theme was mediterranean and it was a perfect match.
Kayleigh was a dream on the day, like us, very chilled so we felt really comfortable being photographed.

Would definitely recommend Kayleigh, we couldn’t be happier with how she captured our special day.

Mediterranean Inspired Detail & Decor

We had seen a bridal shoot that we loved the flowers in and through this, we found Roxie of Willow and Wild Floral Events. We had a great meeting with her to discuss what we wanted and she really listened and suggested options as we wanted lots of white and hanging installations from our trellis’ to give a romantic mediterranean feel.

Instead of individual wedding favours we did a raffle so everyone had a ticket with a number underneath their chair and we gave out vouchers, bouquets of flowers, gin and wine hampers.

I made all our wedding stationery with my dad.

My brother is a qualified electrician so his wedding gift to us was to sort all the lighting. We wanted an outdoor mediterranean courtyard feel so lots of festoon lighting and fairy lights over the dance floor.

My mum and maid of honour made the cake. We had 3 tiers, one was mum’s speciality red velvet then the other 2 were salted caramel and a mango and passionfruit. We had our initials made in gold mirrored acrylic and my maid of honour handmade lots of white flowers for decoration.

Favourite Moments

We have so many favourite moments, but loved our entrance into the barn, we both love music and wanted to get everyone on their feet and spinning their napkins round. We walked into Baby by Bakermat and everyone went mad for it and they were all in such high spirits. It was a moment for all the guests too!

First Dance

We had a DJ for welcome drinks playing chilled house music and then for the evening we had 4 different DJ sets with a mix of music from Motown to drum and bass and everything in between!

Our first dance was to Nicky Romero’s ‘I Could Be The One’. Luke mixed an acoustic version with the dance version, at which point, we encouraged guests to come join and get the party started. The song reminds us of our travels to Thailand where we have lots of special memories.

Words of Wedded Wisdom

Enjoy every moment, we drove ourselves between the chapel and the reception venue in my Dads Jaguar and we had moments together that were so precious. We took the time to chat and take it all in. So definitely take a moment to step back.

I am such a details person and was so stressed out the night before about little things that didn’t even enter my head on the day.

Do exactly what you want to do, don’t think about what everyone wants! This is your day so show your personality.
