When it comes to your wedding, trust matters more than anything. And in a world full of choice, it’s become harder than ever to know where to place it.

A Changing Landscape: Fewer Weddings, Deeper Meaning

Something significant is happening in the world of weddings right now, and if you are planning yours, you may already feel it. Fewer couples are choosing large, traditional celebrations, yet those who are getting married are spending more. They are pouring their budgets into fewer, more considered choices; a photographer whose work genuinely moves them, a florist who listens, a celebrant who’ll write your ceremony from the heart, a venue that gives all the excited goosebumps the moment you arrive.

Couples are thinking more carefully than ever about every part of their wedding – not just how something looks, but who is behind it. They want to feel confident in their choices, and certain they are in safe hands.

It’s a response to how the world feels right now. When everything feels uncertain and noisy, the things that really matter become much clearer. Your wedding is one of the most emotionally significant investments you will ever make. You are choosing the people who will shape how this experience feels for you and your guests, and how you will remember it.

Trust is the New Currency

Everything we see tells us the same thing, couples choose based on trust. Couples today carry out thorough research before signing a single contract. They are wary of hard-sell tactics, misleading imagery and platforms that prioritise volume over integrity. They are looking for somewhere that has already done the hard work, somewhere that has taken the time to choose carefully and stand behind every recommendation. They want to feel that recommendation is personal and that the person making it would stake their reputation on it.

AI usage in wedding planning has almost doubled in the space of a single year, with couples using these tools for early inspiration and logistics. When it comes to the decisions that truly matter though – the photographer, the venue, the florist, the planner – couples still turn to trusted, human-led sources. Some decisions are too personal to leave to an algorithm.

Why Our Directory Has Always Been Different

We have never wanted to be a marketplace. Our directory has been deliberately small since the beginning, not because we couldn’t fill it with hundreds of listings, but because we never wanted to. A recommendation means nothing if it isn’t considered. The moment a directory becomes a catalogue, it stops being useful to the people who need it most.

I want to be honest with you about how personally I take this. Every application that comes in is read by me. I look at each business with the same care I would give if I were recommending someone to a close friend. I think about the couples who will find this business through our pages, and whether I can stand behind that introduction with complete confidence. When I can, they join us. When I cannot, they do not. This is not something I will ever automate or step away from – every application comes directly to me, because the integrity of this directory depends entirely on that personal judgement remaining at the centre of it.

You’ll find some of the businesses we love and recommend featured throughout this article – not as advertisements, but as genuine introductions to people whose work I am proud to recommend. I hope you will take a moment to explore them.

A Directory Built Around You

When you browse our directory, I promise you won’t be wading through noise. Every single name has been placed there with intention. You can save your favourites to your own personal dashboard, return to them when you are ready, and reach out directly through the contact form on each listing without ever having to leave the site.

Wedding planning can feel overwhelming, and finding the right people within it has never been harder. Trust is the rarest thing a platform can offer you. It is the only thing we have ever built this directory around, and it is not something we will ever compromise.

What To Do Next?

You’ll find our directory here and advise you bookmark it. You can reach out from within each listing using the contact form to ask a question or enquire about price and availability. Many of the listings include special offers for Love My Dress readers – check the top of the listing to see if there is one.

We also encourage you to create a free user account. This will enable you to save all your favourite supplier, vendor and venue recommendations to your own personal dashboard, which can be revisited at any time. You can also save all your favourite real weddings, ceremony readings, articles and items in our shop to your dashboard. We’ve tried to make this as helpful a resource as possible for you – but let us know if you think it can be improved in any way.
